It's HERE!!!

First, I would like to thank everyone who supports me in the no-costume thing! I saw lots of pictures of friends (and complete strangers) in costumes who looked very cute/menacing/Dark Lord-y (who know who you are!), but I'm also glad to hear there are lots of us who effectively protest the costume thing! As a complete aside, Honey, here is the description/explanation of candy corn ; basically it is sugar with no nutritional value - Mom blames her father for enjoying candy corn for sentimental reasons... Yeah, I have no idea what she's talking about, either!

Moving on.

Our snow has pretty much melted away. Well. The snow in the backyard has melted away, but there is still plenty of snow in the mountains. Park City Mountain Resort is supposed to open November 20th, and we are supposed to get more snow next week, so Mom is hoping that they'll be able to open more than one run when the time comes. I have no idea what she's talking about, but she seems to be excited. In the meantime, the days have been beautiful, and we've been going on REALLY LONG walkies. Here's a picture of us with Dad, where you can see the snow in the mountains, and our smiling faces!

It was a little cool yesterday on our walk (as you can tell from Dad's hat and jacket), but today it was positively toasty - Mom said it was 60 degrees out!!!

Because of the nice weather, we've been going on longer walks (about 7 miles a day), but we still get plenty of tennis ball time:

And, of course, we get to spend lots of quality time with Mom!

This was today, when it was warmer - note the absence of knit hats and jackets!

Our backyard has even dried out, so while it may look muddy, it's actually dry enough that I can put Abby in her place without her ending up looking like a giant mudball!

Heehee.

Anyhoo... On to the excitement!

The nice people from Fetching Tags were super speedy in making my new tag, and it arrived today!!!

How cool is THAT?!?

Mom tried to get a picture of the tag on me, but I was more interested in trying to eat my collar to cooperate...

Thanks again to everyone who submitted tag line suggestions, and to everyone who voted, and to the cool people at Fetching Tags for making my nifty new tag! Oh, and thanks to the people at the Vizsla Rescue Haven (Dennis' charity of choice) who sent Mom a cool calendar with pictures of lots of Vizslas (apparently not all Vizslas wear fedoras... I didn't know that until I saw their calendar!). I am really happy with my new tag, and I think it is TOTALLY appropriate!! Thank you all!!!

Smackdowns and a Contest

The weather has turned fall-like; it's raining as I type and snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. Mom is muttering something uncharitable about muddy paw prints, and how we may be sent to daycare until mid-December. She's not serious about that. At least I don't think she is... Hmm...

Anyhoo. My dear sweet sister and I got out and raced around the yard a bit before it started raining.

Good times!

Oh, and speaking of good times, Abby's 'Hippo-Bottomus' name tag won third place in the name tag contest from Fetching Tags so I get a new name tag!!!! Since I have apparently NOT lived up to my 'Dogzilla' expectations. So... Does anyone have any suggestions for a new name tag for me? Every suggestion will be considered! Thanks!

CHANGE OF PLANS!!!!I AM GOING TO RUN A CONTEST!!!

To make this interesting, I am going to hold a contest for my name tag. I am going to invite submissions from now until Sunday, October 17th at 9pm. A winner will then be picked (possibly by popular vote, if Mom can figure out how to do the voting thing) and the individual who submitted the winning name tag line will get a $25 donation to the animal charity of their choice. Please promote this to all your friends - the more submissions the merrier! Put your thinking caps on, and come up with a new tag for me! If you need ideas, Fetching Tags has some popular tag lines to get your creative juices flowing!

Good luck, and may the best tagline win!

Finally, Brutus was saying that a little video might help give him a better sense of the Human Zoomies that Mom and Dad do. Mom and Dad failed to have the camera running during their runs, but lots of people video their runs, and here is a video from the races on Sunday. This guy is a pretty fast driver in a Mazda Miata.

Seriously, this is what Mom and Dad call fun. Heehee. Actually, Mom says it is A LOT of fun, and as much as they do it, I'm inclined to believe her!

For those of you who can't see the video, here is the direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FWSWR7ASZ4

Oops! It's dinnertime. Gotta go. Bye!

Hi from the House With Wheels!!!

Hi!!! We're in the House With Wheels (aka the Starship Enterprise) this week. Nope, we're not at a car race, or some exotic vacation local (well... if you consider Park City an exotic vacation locale then I guess we are, but since we live here, it sort of loses some of its exotic-ness). We're here because our House Without Wheels has been invaded.

Do you see all those people crawling all over My House?!? And do you have any idea how much I hate people crawling on my house? Let's just say that I hate it enough that Mom and Dad decided it would be better if we stayed in the House With Wheels while these people crawl all over my roof.

And create mass destruction. If I was Dennis, I'd probably think they were looking for termites or something!

So, yeah. This chaos is supposed to go on ALL WEEK.

Mom can't find a picture of the House With Wheels in Park City (and Uncle Larry has the camera so he can take pictures of the demolition), so here's a 'stock' photo from when we were in southern Utah, for those of you who might not have seen the House With Wheels.

We are back to our usual hiking, but (again, since Uncle Larry has the camera) we haven't had a chance to get any pictures of the fall flame that is coming out on the hillside - the colors are quite brilliant right now. (I'll make sure Mom gets pictures. I promise!) In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few pictures from our zoomies yesterday (before the people came to tear down my house...).

Here's a picture for you that shows you a hint of our fall color in the background...

Mad ball skillz? I got 'em!

And Abby wants to be just like me! :-)

The number #2 Rule of Fetch? Keep your eye on the ball.

The #1 Rule is to keep an eye on your sister....

Good times! But alas, we won't get our yard back until the weekend. *sigh*

So, in the meantime, go vote for my sister Abby and her Hippobottomus tag, PLEASE!!!! (On the right side bar.) THANKS!!!!

We'll be preparing ourselves for tomorrow's adventures!

Abby Is (Gonna Be) Famous!!!!

OMD, OMD, OMD!!!

So, you know how Mom ordered a name tag for Abby, from Fetching Tags ?

*cough*

Heehee!

Mom is a big fan of Fetching Tags. You may recall, I have my own tag:

(If you don't want to biggify it, it says 'Dogzilla'...)

And TaiChi even had her own tag. The Queen of the Universe was (and always will be) the 'Dust Bunny'

Needless to say, Mom is a BIG FAN of Fetching Tags. And, I must say, I'm quite taken with them, myself.

Anyhoo, Mom got an email today saying that Abby's "Hippo-bottomus" tag was picked as one of their top 'tag lines' for the month. And now, of course, there is a contest for the top tag line of the month, with the winner being picked by popular vote.

So.... You know the drill, please go over to Fetching Tags, and on the right-hand side of the page you can vote on the best tag lines for the month. So, pretty please, go vote for my sister the Hippo-Bottomus. Because while she may be a big lunker of a Hippo-Bottomus, she is still my sister, (and yes, I love her, despite everything I say about her) and I'd really love to see her win!

What does she win? I dunno. Fame, glory and bragging rights, I think. And really, what is better than that?

So please go vote for the Hippo-Bottomus! And you can only vote once, so you don't have to worry about attempting to ballot-stuff!

And speaking of the Hippobottomus, here is an Extremely Rare picture of a Flying Hippobottomus. (Forgive the photo quality - Mom is throwing the ball, and then attempting to quickly snap a picture, and if you know Mom, walking and chewing gum at the same time is a bit of a challenge for her, so throwing a ball and taking a picture taxes her coordination.... Just kidding, Mom!!!)

Sure, I get way better amplitude (dude...), but the fact that Abby can actually jump off the ground at all just amazes me! Me? I fly.

But I'm not a Hippo-Bottomus...

And speaking of the Hippo-Bottomus, here are a few pictures from a true failure of a photoshoot...

Okay, so this tag does make my butt look big. What's your point?!?

Hmm. Clearly being a world-famous celebrity is a bit tiring for the large-bottomed one... And this last picture? I have No Idea how she got her face to look like this. Thank heavens it didn't freeze that way! Heehee!

Anyway, so please vote on the right hand side of the page (if you can... I know a couple of people have had some troubles actually being able to vote... I would suggest trying again later...) Anyway, thanks!!! And go check out their cool tags - some of their 'standards' are pretty cool, you know, if you're not a Hippo-bottomus! Thank you!
