Happy, Happy Snow Doggies!

Our week started off with some warm weather, but a cold winter storm came in, and we have been Happy Snow Doggies ever since.  Mom has been grumbling that it is "cold"  (below zero temps at night, single to low double-digit temps during the day); we've been telling her to suck it up.  Winter is here, and we are ready to PLAY!!!!   (Besides, we like to snuggle, and once we've gotten our fill of winter frisbee action, we're always happy to snuggle, even if we are still 'melting'...)

"Why do you want to go to work, Mom?  It's just started snowing, and we're ready for fun!"

"Welcome back from work, Mom!  It's still snowing - let's go play!!!"

"Enough with the flashy beast!  Start throwing the frisbee!"

"Yes, I know there is a frisbee right in front of me.  I want the one in your hand, please."
"Nope.  I'm not cold.  Keep throwing the frisbee!"

"Seriously.  Not cold.  Keep those frisbees moving!"

"Still not cold.  Throw the frisbees!"
The storm was over on Thursday, but it stayed super cold, so our snow stayed wonderfully soft and floofy.  Then, on Saturday we had another storm move it, making for the perfect weekend!

"I got it, I got it!"

"There's no zoomies like snow zoomies!"

"Ho-hum.  Abby can do this All Day Long."

"Mine!"

"Mine! Again!"

"Nice throw, Mom!  And just because it's snowing, you can't blame bad throws on the wind!"

My regal pose.
In addition to all our frisbee antics, we took Mom on lots of walkies to make sure Mom got plenty of exercise and fresh air.
"My schnozz tells me there have been homo sapiens here recently."
"Hey, Mom.  Why doesn't Dad get a BIG plow like that?  I bet it would make his job clearing the driveway go much faster!"

"Fi, are we lost?"  "Naw, just follow me.  And it's not really windy, so I don't think Mom will be making any Donner Party jokes today."

"Why yes, we are a good-looking pair of snow Doodles!"
Throughout the weekend, Mom felt the need to test the 'look' command she uses to get pictures of us.  Sometimes she was more successful than other times!

Snowy schnozz!

Heehee!

Yes, I really do have that soulful eyes thing down, don't I?

"Snow on my snooter?  Really?  Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm cute.  Now throw the frisbee!"

Mom has about a zillion more snooter shots, but I told her that our audience is WAY more interested in action photos.
Oh yeah!

Good times!
And speaking of action photos, given the very cold temps we've been having, there was some concern that the Doodle Launcher might not perform well in 'extreme' conditions.  However, you will all be happy to know that the Doodle Launcher works well in ALL conditions!

Sproing!

Leapin' Doodles!

I think someone turned the gravity switch to "off"!
We have A TON more frisbee-in-snow photos, but Mom seems to think that having 87 (or so) photos in one post might be a bit too much.  Oh well.  Trust us - we're having a pawsome time in the snow!

Of Long Weekends and Vanishing Snow and Things

First, while our snow is vanishing (we think we've been visited by the same Snow Thief that has been stealing the Thundering Herd's snow), Mom had a four-day weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday, and extra time with Mom is always better than snow.  (Although a major snowstorm where Mom had to stay home due to weather would be the best of both worlds....)

With Mom home, we made sure we got in a bunch of Extra Long walkies!  (Not the best photos, but when we are on walkies, we want to WALK, not stop for photos!)

"Fi - where's all our snow gone?"  "Dunno, but with dry roads, Mom will take us on long walkies!"

Enough photos!  Let's WALK!

Since we got so many Extra Long walkies, Mom declared that she deserved some nap-time.  We were happy to help her nap.

See what good nappers we are?  We're snuggled up to Mom and each other, and are only kinda sorta pushing Mom off the side of the bed!
Of course, we also got in A LOT of frisbee time.  Our snow is melting, and while it's not optimal, we still manage to make it work.

C'mon, Mom. Throw the frisbees - we're burning daylight here!

I kinda think Abby missed this frisbee this time, but she gets style points!

She may not have caught this one either, but she's got nice form!

Me?  I might lose my balance (although I didn't this time), but I do whatever it takes to catch the frisbee!

Note my classic frisbee catching form!

Abby is definitely more unorthodox, but she's having fun!

Got another one!

Yeah, I really doubt Abby caught this one, either, but she looks goofy, erm, good!

A little toofer action helps her with frisbee acquisition!
Yes, we are sad about our vanishing snow, but we will persevere!

*sigh*

"Mr. Frisbee - meet my mouth!"

*sproing*

Abby looks kinda fierce here - maybe's she's trying to scare the frisbee into her mouth!

Nice throw, Mom.  (Not.)

Abby demonstrating superior ear flappage!

Good times!

Our snow may be vanishing, but we're having fun!
In answer to our buddy Tank's comment on last week's post, I don't think Abby is a real doggie - I think she is the product of some sort of genetic experiment involving rubber and springs and, yes, Mexican jumping beans.  DNA tests will help determine what sort of freak of nature Abby really is!  Clearly she is no genetic relation to me, as I am a normal doggie, whereas Abby is, well, who knows what Abby is!

In other excitement, Mom put the finishing touches on our Christmas tree.

Our little 2' tall tree is getting a little overwhelmed with ornaments, but since the latest additions to the tree include custom-painted depictions of us, who are we to complain?

We hope all our friends in the US had a great Thanksgiving (We did!  Mom and Dad even shared a teeny bit of the ham and pumpkin pie with us!).  And for those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving AND Hanukkah, gobble-tov!
