Happy, Happy Snow Doggies!

Our week started off with some warm weather, but a cold winter storm came in, and we have been Happy Snow Doggies ever since.  Mom has been grumbling that it is "cold"  (below zero temps at night, single to low double-digit temps during the day); we've been telling her to suck it up.  Winter is here, and we are ready to PLAY!!!!   (Besides, we like to snuggle, and once we've gotten our fill of winter frisbee action, we're always happy to snuggle, even if we are still 'melting'...)

"Why do you want to go to work, Mom?  It's just started snowing, and we're ready for fun!"

"Welcome back from work, Mom!  It's still snowing - let's go play!!!"

"Enough with the flashy beast!  Start throwing the frisbee!"

"Yes, I know there is a frisbee right in front of me.  I want the one in your hand, please."
"Nope.  I'm not cold.  Keep throwing the frisbee!"

"Seriously.  Not cold.  Keep those frisbees moving!"

"Still not cold.  Throw the frisbees!"
The storm was over on Thursday, but it stayed super cold, so our snow stayed wonderfully soft and floofy.  Then, on Saturday we had another storm move it, making for the perfect weekend!

"I got it, I got it!"

"There's no zoomies like snow zoomies!"

"Ho-hum.  Abby can do this All Day Long."

"Mine!"

"Mine! Again!"

"Nice throw, Mom!  And just because it's snowing, you can't blame bad throws on the wind!"

My regal pose.
In addition to all our frisbee antics, we took Mom on lots of walkies to make sure Mom got plenty of exercise and fresh air.
"My schnozz tells me there have been homo sapiens here recently."
"Hey, Mom.  Why doesn't Dad get a BIG plow like that?  I bet it would make his job clearing the driveway go much faster!"

"Fi, are we lost?"  "Naw, just follow me.  And it's not really windy, so I don't think Mom will be making any Donner Party jokes today."

"Why yes, we are a good-looking pair of snow Doodles!"
Throughout the weekend, Mom felt the need to test the 'look' command she uses to get pictures of us.  Sometimes she was more successful than other times!

Snowy schnozz!

Heehee!

Yes, I really do have that soulful eyes thing down, don't I?

"Snow on my snooter?  Really?  Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm cute.  Now throw the frisbee!"

Mom has about a zillion more snooter shots, but I told her that our audience is WAY more interested in action photos.
Oh yeah!

Good times!
And speaking of action photos, given the very cold temps we've been having, there was some concern that the Doodle Launcher might not perform well in 'extreme' conditions.  However, you will all be happy to know that the Doodle Launcher works well in ALL conditions!

Sproing!

Leapin' Doodles!

I think someone turned the gravity switch to "off"!
We have A TON more frisbee-in-snow photos, but Mom seems to think that having 87 (or so) photos in one post might be a bit too much.  Oh well.  Trust us - we're having a pawsome time in the snow!

Sun, Snow and the Donner Party

After a week of snow, more snow, and the Halloween bandanna debacle, Abby and I were ready for the weekend.

Friday and Saturday were both quite warm and sunny, and Abby took advantage of the weather to get in some sunny frisbee action, especially since our snow was rapidly melting.

With a little assistance from the Doodle Launcher!

Is it me, or does Abby look about 7 feet tall in this photo?

The Leaning Tower of Hippobottomus!

Oh yeah!  Frisbees in fall are awesome!

Abby could do this All Day Long!

Abby's not the only Doodle with springs in her leggies!

"Look Ma, no hands!"  Heehee!
We also spent part of Saturday morning at World Market, working on our socialization skills (and getting pets from lots of people).

"Fi, do you think we'll get to taste any of that coffee?"  "Are you kidding?  Mom doesn't want you any more energized than you already are!"

"Smile and look friendly, Abs.  They're hiring for the holidays, and you could earn us some extra bully stick money!"

"Abs, what's 'Bock-wurst'?"  "Dunno.  But you've got a Deutschlander in a bottle.  Is that like Prince Albert in a can?  Heehee!"

"Um, Fi, why am I next to the bottle of Jerk?"  "Lemme think about that... I'll get back to you!"
While we enjoyed the warm sunny weather we had on Saturday, we were really hoping for more snow.  We were very pleased to wake up to a snow storm in progress!  It took Mom about 87 minutes to find her winter walking gear and then we were off!

Snow Doodles!

Snow walkies!
At one point in the walk it was snowing quite hard and it was very windy, and we couldn't really see where we were going.  So Mom starts talking about the Donner Party and how on their ill-fated trip they passed through Utah, only a few miles north of us.  I figured with Abby along, I didn't have anything to worry about!

Biggify the above picture for the full experience.

Heehee!

After we got home (no need to turn Abby into rump roast), we dried off a bit and let Mom warm up at little bit and then we were ready to go out for some frisbee funballs times!

Snow seems to add extra spring to our leggies!

Abby is STILL a long dog!

"Interference!  Where's the ref?"

Jaws of Doom.

More Jaws of Doom.

Mom says I look like a rabbit in this picture.

Yes, there was also some tug-o-war action.  And from the ripping sound I heard, there might be an order of new frisbees in our near future!

Having a warm sunny day and a day of snow was the perfect weekend combination!  It's still snowing lightly, but it should clear out soon - and just be cold - which is okay, too!
