It's MY bloggie and I'm going to vent. So there.

If I hear “cute puppy” this or “smart puppy” that or “what a good puppy” One More Time, I think I’m going to hurl. Seriously. The Little Monster goes to PetCo for her Puppy Class and Mom comes back gushing about what a wonderful puppy the beast Abby is, and how everyone at the store thinks she’s So Cute. Oh please. They only see a hotdog-eating, eager-to-please little ball of fluff. They don’t see the monster that she becomes at home.

Good grief. You can see her tonsils.

That's my ear!!!

Even Mom and Dad buy into her shtick. I mean, they get so excited when she poops outside. Woo-hoo. That’s definitely Nobel prize-worthy. *sheesh*

And yesterday? Yesterday totally takes the cake. Mom takes The Monster to puppy class (which is still a class of one – probably because no one else wants to contaminate their dog by being around the Spawn of Satan), and the store is hosting a pet photo thing. So Mom gets some pictures of Abby looking (and I quote) “angelic”. Angelic?!? I think Mom must be stopping by the pub next door or something while Abby is sucking up to the dog trainer, because “angelic”? Not the Abby that I know. I take that back. She can work it when she wants to. I mean, here is the face that she puts on when she's suckering people into buying her Cute Puppy Act.

*gag*

Note from Mom: PetCo was doing one of those fund-raising things, and well, I couldn't help myself. And actually the first 6 pictures we got were a disaster as Abby couldn’t sit still to save her life. But we took a few more after class, after we had been practicing ‘sit’ and ‘down’ for quite a while, and yep. She’s cute. Painfully cute. We are getting hard copies of the pictures (alas, we couldn’t get digital copies), so when they arrive, I’ll figure out how to post them. But OMD. Abby was really working the Cute Puppy thing. Unfortunately, the photographer won’t be there tomorrow when Fi has class, so we’ll have to wait to get her portrait done…

*sigh*

But, at least I can still bitey-face her.

And while she thinks she can do snow-zoomies...

Here short little leggies means that she pretty much sticks to the places where the snow has melted.

While I can enjoy the snow in all its wonderfulness! Because I am all long-leggity-like.

*neener neener*

*kissey face* (unless you are Abby, in which case it is bitey-face all the way)

Puppies can be obnoxious, but you can train them to be your servants with a little patience.

The payback will be the destructo teenager phase where everything that is broken will be the demons fault. You will get away with a few things being blamed on the pup. Hang in there!

Oh Fiona, these puppies always steal the limelight but we agree with the Thundering Herd - once they become adolescents the shine wears off a bit!
By then you two will be having the best of fun.
Loved your snow zoomies!

Aaah, Fiona, after reading your venting post and especially your momma's aside, I feel you, my furiend. I empathize. It's exactly the same here with Frankie going to school (BTW she's not even potty trained whereas it looks like Abby's doing great in that department)

Fiona

I so feel for you! Luckily part of the conditions of having me is that they're not allowed have any other dogs in the house!

But you know, I do get a bit lonely sometimes and Abby will probably turn out to be a great pal - eventually!!!!

take care

Just keep biting her in the head. She'll thank you later.

Me lovely lady, Fiona,

Let me tell you..... even if she WASN'T a puppy, she'd steal some of your thunder. I mean, I'm the happenin' Irishman, right? But, me own fur mom came in a took over! Well, okay, not really, I'm still a brat! AND, I still get lots of attention, and OHHHH sleep in their bed. I make her sleep UNDER the bed. I'll give you THAT lesson if you want, girlie!

For now, you DEFINITELY have the neener neeners on her!!!!

Lately, my mom's been taking me out by myself on "special outings" (she said I've been complaining and acting out - yeh right!) Anyways, everyone keeps saying things like how cute I am and adorable ... lalalala. But it just makes me sick - I wish I'd much rather be covered in mud. Anyways, though it makes me gag - mom tells them to stop so I don't get all big-headed. But that makes me mad! I AM awesome and I should be told as often as possible! So from one super fantastic pup to another - happy day!!!

Puffy feels the same way about me....however...just a caution...WE do grow up and our teefers get BIG and we bite back eventually. Which results in vettie bills and I told you so from the peeps. He's not gettting too much sympathy when I flash the jaws of death at him these days.

Be nice to the little tyke and she'll be yer friend. Snarl at her and run her off from her foodibles and bitey her till she goes squeeeee...and it might come back atcha one day when yer old n slow.

just sayin,

Bonnie

Hi Fiona,

Your zoom zoomies snowie shots are always photo perfect! We not about Abby for she seems to look up to you.

Aside from putting the blame on her for all the destruction around you, she will surely grow up to be a fun playmate for you and Tai-Chi.
