Dog Days of Summer - Favorite Photo

Okay, so we sort of lost our way with the Dog Days of Summer.  BUT, since there are no rules, we can stop and start whenever we want, right?  Right.

However, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to post our all-time favorite photo.   While Mom has a ton of photos of us that she loves, this is her most favorite photo EVER.

It's almost like we posed for it or something.  Almost.

And while it's still the Dog Days of Summer around here (it was 95 in Salt Lake today - something Mom whines about), our leaves are starting to change colors, which means snow could be Right Around The Corner!!! (Mom's not happy about that either.  *sheesh*)

In Memoriam

Mom was going to do another post of us catching frisbees and being well-behaved in dog classes, but with the passing of Neil Armstrong, she thought it was appropriate to dig into our photo archives to bring out a rare photo...

Thanks for making that first step, Mr. Armstrong.  Let's hope mankind can keep moving toward the stars.

PeeEss: The original photo was borrowed from NASA.  We mean no disrespect to anyone/any organization, and we take no credit for the original photo.  We do, however, truly think the future of mankind is in space.

Dog Days of Summer - # 17 Flashbacks (Fi)

Okay, so we've gotten a little out of whack on the Dog Days of Summer. But as Norwood has said, there are no rules.

So, we're going to do the Flashback post in two posts - one for me and one for Abby.

Since I didn't have a bloggie as a wee pup, I've got all sorts of rarely seen photos.  And I'm going first, because, well, I AM the older sister.

Be prepared for serious cuteness.  Feel free to 'squee' all you want; I was a very cute puppy.  And modest, too!

One of Mom's favorite pictures!  I was smaller than TaiChi at this point.

Mom's 2nd favorite picture, where I am staring trustingly up at Dad!
Yep.  I was a total cutie.  How could you resist a face like this:

Or this?

'Not my chair'?  What do you mean by that?

You can't possibly expect me to move when I'm looking so cute.  And I'm so comfortable...
Of course, my life was not ALL about hanging out and looking cute.  I had to practice my stuffie-hunting skills...

My very first stuffie.
And I had to develop my snow skills.

My first snow.

More of my first snow.

Seriously, this snow stuff is pretty nifty!

And I had to nap.  Hunting stuffies and playing in snow is not as easy as you might think...

Sleeping Puppy. Do not disturb!
Trying. So. Hard. To. Keep. Eyes. Open.

As a pup, I learned quickly that napping with a friend was way better than napping alone, and TaiChi was a great napping partner!
In the House With Wheels at 9 weeks (Mom didn't trust me, hence my diaper).
So there you have it.  Fiona, The Younger Days!  Heehee!

Mom will try to get photos of Abby up at some point (although her puppyhood has been fairly well documented...)

Dog Days of Summer #15 - Close Ups

It's Day 15 of the Dog Days of Summer, and that means it's time for close-ups!

We're all all about close-ups.  Because when Mom gets in super close for a photo, she's usually got some pretty good treats!

Abby is such a ham for the camera.

Me?  I don't have to be a ham to look good!
Biggify these pictures for best results!

Dogs Days of Summer #14 - In Costume

Okay, so we missed a few days.  Eh.  What can I say?  Mom has been "busy".  But we're back for day #14, In Costume.

We're really NOT big fans of the whole clothing thing.   Fr'instance, last year, Mom tried to get some 'cute Christmas photos'.

Abby, who is usually able to fake enthusiasm for such things, failed.

World's Unhappiest Reindog
I held out for the treats.

Not that it totally worked...

Do I look happy to you?
I wasn't any happier with the elf hat.

Mom thinks this is cute.  In actuality, it's my 'if you don't give me that next treat immediately, someone will be missing some fingers' look.
So, 'nuff said about costumes.

PeeEss: As some point there will be a post about our weekend adventures.  You know, when Mom actually pulls the pictures off the camera...  *sigh*  Good help is hard to find.

Dog Days of Summer #11 - In Motion

August 11th, and it's time for 'In Motion'!

There are some doggies, *cough*Tank*cough* who have suggested that we seem to always be in motion, and sleep is not something we do much of.  Tank would, in fact, be right.   Well, we do sleep when Mom is at work, but that's only so we'll be ready to assault Mom as soon as she walks in the door!

So, yeah, I guess we do the 'in motion' thing fairly well...

Really, who can waste time sleeping where there are tennis balls to be caught?

And zoomies to be done...

And frisbees to chase...

And snow to bound through...

If we're not in motion, I think the world would stop spinning on its axis!

Heehee!

Dog Days of Summer #10 - Wet Fur

It's August 10th, and today's installment of the Dog Days of Summer is 'Wet Fur'.

As 'doodles, we actually have hair, rather than fur.  No really.  There are at least 36 different breeds (not including 'mutts' such as my sister and myself) who have hair rather than fur.  Generally it means we don't shed (or not much), and instead require haircuts.  But hair or fur, it gets wet.

Abby is all about wet hair...

SOMEBODY required a bath after a close encounter of the poo variety at day care... She was NOT happy.

Heehee!  What's the point of the interwebs if you can't post humiliating pictures of your sister?

Here is Abby's preferred wet hair style...

Just out of the pond, tennis ball in mouth.
In my humble opinion, when she gets soaking wet like that, her tail looks kinda wimpy.  Which is why Mom keeps our tails long and floofy...

This is more my kind of wet hair...

It's really awesome when I go back inside and melt all over the floor, or the blankets on the bed... Mom LOVES it.  She must.  I mean, she keeps letting us frolic in the snow... Heehee!

Stay cool my friends!

Dog Days of Summer #9 - Outside

The theme for Day 9 of the Dog Days of Summer is Outside.

Heh.  We are All-Season Doggies.

Summer?  Yep, we've got that covered with Summer Funballs Frisbee Times.

Fall?  Nothing better than Fall Walkies when the leaves are changing colors!  Even if Mom is more interested in getting pictures of the trees than getting pictures of us.... *sheesh*

Winter?  Heh.  If you know ANYTHING about us, you know we ROCK winter!  Even when winter carries on into June, as it sometimes does around here...

And spring?  When it does come, we're ready to test out the grass and take in the warm weather.

New grass zoomies!
And some of us enjoy the new grass in a, ah, slightly less modest fashion!
Heehee!

We love being outside, no matter what the weather!
