Mom Has Been Slacking

She has been seriously slacking!  Not that we haven't been having fun, she's just been slacking when it comes to posting our adventures.  But rest assured that we have been having a grand time.

We celebrated Daisy's birthday (and Pioneer Day, since they are only a day apart) last week. Of course, bandanas and snacks were handed out. (Although Mom has some beef and bacon ice cream for us that she hasn't broken out of the freezer yet, so technically Daisy's birthday is still being celebrated...)

Let them eat cake! Or bacon ice cream.

Celebrating her, uh, pioneer ancestors.

I am so tolerant of this whole posing thing.

Heh. We look so serious.  Needless to say, Lucy-Fur still needs to work on her group photo posing!
Lucy-Fur has still been flying around the yard like UnderDog. Or Super Girl or something...

Get this girl a cape!
And I have been swimming.  It has been quite warm (for us), so the pool has been great exercise, and Mom is amusing herself taking photos!

Mom says she likes the underwater swimming photos in part because they remind her of the old 'technique' films she used to watch when she was a kid on a swim team - although my photos aren't in black and white, and Mom is probably paying closer attention to technique now than she ever did as a youngster!

Anyway, there has been all sorts of crazy dog zoomies by the youngsters, but Mom hasn't taken a ton of photos. Something about a bunch of other photo shoots to edit. Don't worry, I'll start cracking the whip!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep! Happy birthday to me! I am officially the big one-zero today! Double digits! Eeeiee! Actually, I don't think I look a day over 5, so there, silly hat or no...

Yeah, very funny, Mom! I know you brought home some goodies. Let's ditch this hat and get on to the good stuff.
After the removal of the silly hat, Mom broke out my custom-made birthday pizza, made by a bakery for doggies in Salt Lake City.

Birthday pizza! Who even knew this was a thing?!? (Not Mom until last week!)
I allowed Lucy-Fur, being a generally tolerable wee doggie, up on to my couch with the only requirement that she wear a silly hat.  Lucy-Fur doesn't seem to be bothered by silly hats, although she seemed to be interested in my pizza!

I can't say that I blame her - I am usually rather restrained, but this time I couldn't help but sneak a lick of the pizza.  (Hey, it's my pizza... It even has my name on it!)

Oooh! I detect beef. And Parmesan cheese. And cheddar cheese! Score!
I quickly decided the photo shoot was over and I had a little nibble.

*nom*nom*

Don't worry, Little Fur, you'll get some!
And I did share.  Mom thought me sneaking a bite of the pizza was funny, and took a photo of the slightly-nibbled pizza.

And then Daisy decided to show up as well, certain that she'd get some of my pizza.

Heheh. I bet they don't know I already snuck a bite!

Being the good sister that I am, I shared.

Lucy-Fur, wait your turn!

Daisy was speed in getting her piece and Mom was lucky to have all her fingers!
Heehee!  The best part is that the birthday pizza is big enough that it will last for a few days!  Woohoo!  Good call, Mom!

And in other excitement, here are a few photos from last week.

On the 4th of July, Mom and Dad watched the F-35s on their way to fly over the Park City parade.

And there has been much biteying by the youngsters...

Mom apparently forgot to turn off the anti-gravity field in the back yard - Doodles flying all over the place!

And, of course, I continue my swimming; it's been hot outside and I really enjoy being able to get in my exercise without having to deal with the heat!  (And Mom is having fun being in the pool with me - and I need to keep Mom amused!)

Splashy turn!
Mom says there might be more birthday events this week/weekend, although I hope none of them involve me wearing silly hats again!

Black Dog in Morning, Liver Snacks Take Warning

Actually, Mom might be the one who should take warning; I'm not sure Daisy was super keen on being awoken before dawn to do something that didn't involve barking at wildlife.

"Really. You woke me up for this?"
To say Daisy was not impressed with the experience might be a bit of an understatement...

"Mom. There is moose poop Right. Over. There. I would much rather be eating that than standing here. Just saying."
Of course, Lucy-Fur and I were still home asleep, which was fine by us.

*sigh* "I don't know what you find so amusing about this. Not a cloud in the sky. AND, did I mention that there's moose poop Right. Over. There. Just waiting to be sniffed and eaten!"
Poor Daisy. She gets tortured so (and by "tortured", I mean being force-fed liver snacks while sitting and looking sulky). Just because she's a photogenic black dog.

She does a very good 'deer in the headlights' face.
"I'm. So. Bored."

"Oh whatEVER."

"Your liver snacks have ceased to interest me."

"Seriously. Are we done yet?"
Heehee.  Mom promises to scope out more interesting locations before I get dragged out join her in one of these pre-dawn adventures.

I should note that Mom finds these photos amusing because, well, let's face it, Daisy's personality comes through quite clearly. And Mom suspects that Granny might recall some similar looks on Mom's face when she was a youngster and Granny was dragging Mom and my uncles to every Gothic cathedral in western Europe....
