Lucy's Birthday, Part Two

As I mentioned in the last post, Mom decided to spread Lucy-Fur's birthday celebrations out over a few days, so everything could get packed in.

On Saturday I went swimming (more on that later!) and in the afternoon we went to the Magic Cheeseburger Window.  The experience was all I could hope for, with lots of things to sniff!

The youngsters were a tad clueless (which should come as no surprise to anyone!), but at least they had some idea that something interesting was happening!

"Where are we? What are those smells?'

"Hey Dad, could you tell Mom to hurry it up? We want to eat!"
Needless to say, there were no photos of the actual eating of the cheeseburgers and we were interested in eating and not posing for photos!

Today Lucy-Fur finally got to open her Goodie Box from Chewy.  The box contained, among other things, a silly hat.  Lucy-Fur is shockingly tolerant of this nonsense (she definitely didn't get that from me!).

The box also contained an actual birthday cake snack (made of oats and molasses and other yummy stuff),

As well as a birthday cake squeaky toy...

The squeaky toy was such a big hit that after Daisy and Lucy-Fur had been playing with it for an hour or so, Mom had to take it to the stuffie ER to stitch it up a bit.  I actually took the toy at one point and was happily squeaking away on it - Mom didn't get any photos because she didn't want to distract me.  But she was all excited that I was playing with a toy.  Mom, I DO play with toys, just not when the youngsters can butt in!

The box also contained a squeaky ball (not out for consumption yet as Mom thinks it will drive us all nuts) and some other snacks.  Quite the successful birthday box! (And not once did I complain about not getting anything like that when I turned 1!)

And I actually really didn't complain, because Saturday morning I went swimming with Mom.  Mom has been playing around with lighting to get better photos (she keeps muttering something about this being her white whale - but I don't see any whales in this pool!).  With more lights, she was able to capture me in full Loch Ness Fi-sters Mode!

Run, Angela, run!

So, my paw goes like that, huh? Okay!

I can point, too!

"We're gonna need a bigger boat!"  Heehee!

Lookit my feety-feet!

I'm still chasing you, Angela!

I'm ready!

Check out that light - almost light I was in an outdoor pool. Sort of!

Ahhh! Massage!

Another great weekend!

Have a great week!

Happy Birthday to Lucy-Fur!

Yep, you read that right; today is Lucy-Fur's birthday - she's an entire year old!  Don't tell anyone, but I'm actually sort of fond of the wee beastie.  She's a lot more mellow than Crazy Daisy, and she's not too bad to hang out with sometimes. I have to admit that when Mom and Dad took me and Daisy out to pick up Lucy-Fur, I thought Mom and Dad had completely lost their minds. But maybe they were on to something with Lucy-Fur.  Lucy's birthday celebrations are going to be spread out over a few days, as Mom only took today off, and there wasn't time for Lucy to go swimming and make a trip to the Magic Cheeseburger Window all in one day (so we'll go this weekend!).

Happy birthday, wee beastie!

She's so mellow she'll even put up with the birthday tiara!

Yep, it's definitely a wonderful life!
After enduring the birthday tiara, Lucy-Fur went swimming for the very first time today.

According to Mom, Lucy started off a bit nervous about the whole swimming thing, but she quickly relaxed and started motoring around the pool like a pro!  I'm proud of her!
"Um, so about this swimming thing? You say this is fun?"

"Oooh! Tennis balls!"

"Okay, I can paddle around for tennis balls!"

"Wow! I'm in a sea of tennis balls! How cool is that?!?"

She even got some of those tennis balls!

"Toys, toys, everywhere!"

An overhead shot so you can see her leggies working away!

She even put up with the obligatory ear-wringing!
When she was done swimming and doing yard zoomies, Mom took Lucy's one year 'milestone' photo.  The full family photo will be taken this weekend, but here's Lucy at one year!

And for reference, here was Lucy's two month photo.  Just a wee bit different, dontcha think?

Happy birthday, Lucy-Fur!

Funballs Times!

First, this whole swimming thing is AWESOME!!!  I am having So. Much. Fun!  And it's fun to have Mom in the pool with me, too - she gets some crazy photos!  Like this one - it's like Mom Photoshopped two different photos together - but no, it's the magic of refraction!

Kinda cool, and kinda creepy at the same time!
And Mom has been trying different thing to get some underwater action photos.... She's still working on things - which means I have to go swimming each week so Mom can keep experimenting!

I'm swimming so fast I'm a blur! (Okay, it was a slow shutter speed - but I look really speedy!)

Lookit me go!

"Hi Mom! I'm going to swim right at you!"

*RIGHT* at you! Better duck! Heehee!

Check out my form!
Every once in a while Mom gets one of the over-underwater action photos.  I look like the Loch Ness Monster, but with a life vest on! Heehee!

Of course, Mom also gets photos of me motoring around the pool.

And plenty of massage photos!

If you compare the very first photo to this one, I've shrunk! Now I've got dachshund leggies!

Massage while I play with my tennis ball is The Best!

But I take this all VERY seriously.  Heehee.  Who am I kidding? This is all FUN!
Look forward to more photos - Mom is trying to figure out some underwater lighting and stuff.  All I know is that I'm having fun!

Thanks Mom!
The youngsters are still running around like a pair of crazy women (which they are...)

They do this 27 hours a day, inside and out!

Notice how Lucy still hasn't heard about the law of gravity?!?

Wheeeee!

Seriously, get this kid into a basic physics class!
And... Mom brought out her Super Snooter Shooter and got some photos of us because it amuses her (and we have to keep Mom happy!)...

The nose knows!

Shifty eyes!

"Hi! I see you have snacks. I, too, enjoy snacks."
Heehee!  Have a great week, and since Lucy-Fur turns one year old this week (Seriously! Where does the time go?!?  But she is still a totally puppy-brain...), stay tuned for birthday photo, and Lucy's first experience in the pool!
