Happy Howl-o-ween!

Happy Howl-o-ween to everyone! We don't actually do the Howl-o-ween thing (well, other than Mom buying some candy corn, but don't tell anyone - that's her secret vice...), but I'm all impressed with those of you who actually get dressed up. Like Darth Brutus. HAHAHAHA! Actually, he looks so good in that costume, some one might want to contact George Lucas and see if there are more sequels in the making... I'm even impressed with Mango, although I'm not entirely convinced by the 230lb bumblebee. I'm just saying...

Anyhoo. Neither Abby nor I is dressing up, because, well, neither of us likes clothes.

Fr'instance, notice my complete and overwhelming joy in wearing this hat:

Yeah, not so much.

Or this:

C'mon. Enough with the hats...

Although this was not a better look (except that I guess I could dress up as a crossing guard...)

I think this pretty much sums up WHY I do not want to be dressed up for ANY holiday. (Thanks, Mom. Very funny. Just remember: I know where your shoes are.)

So while I will enjoy looking at pictures of all of my friends in their Howl-o-ween finery,

I think I'm going to stick to working the treat angle...

Snow Pictures and Stuff

First, I would like to thank Dennis again for my new tag line, "Zoom-Zoom"!!! Mom has placed the order with the nice people from Fetching Tags, and I should have it in a couple of weeks. I can hardly wait!!! Mom says that my "Dogzilla" tag will be put on her fob for her car keys. Just because she can.

Anyhoo, Dennis charity of choice is the Vizsla Rescue Haven. As Dennis describes them, "they care for vizslas wot cannot be adopted owt doo to separayshun anxiety or destruktive behayvyor like eeting furnitcher or .... hay wayt that sownds like me!!!" Heehee. That Dennis, cracks me up - when I can translate his spelling, that is! Anyway, we read all about the place, and it sounds like a really cool place, and I was very happy to send Mom's green papers to them!

Thank you again, Dennis, for my cool tag line! (It makes me want to go to a car race... Alas, I'll have to wait until March to show off my tag at the races. Maybe I can get Mazda to feature me on one of their ads... Heehee!)

Speaking of car races, Mom and Dad put the House With Wheels into storage today. I know that seems like a leap in topics, but when Abby and I go to car races, we go in the House With Wheels... Or maybe I've just been reading too much of Dennis' bloggie lately, and my brain leaps off on tangents in a heartbeat... With winter upon us, Mom and Dad got it all packed up (and unpacked), and took it down to a heated indoor storage facility in Salt Lake today. So no, we are not going to southern Utah this year (maybe I can convince Mom and Dad to take us in the spring... I like hiking near Zion...), but Mom says that they should be skiing in three weeks.

Frankly, I have no idea what this skiing thing is, nor do I know why they are doing it, but whatever. They seem happy. Maybe they are thinking of skijoring...

Mom says "no". Something about how if Abby or I decided to go chase something, Mom and/or Dad would be "in trouble". Hmm. I think she's just lacking a certain sense of adventure. Note from Mom: I think the girls need a little more control on the leash before we give this a shot. However... I'm not totally opposed to the idea, and may actually buy the book to see if it is something we could possibly do, or if we should just stick to snowshoeing with them, as the skijoring thing seems to have a potential for disaster requiring surgical repair.

Mom DID say that we are going to be hiking/snowshoeing with them this winter, and has purchased booties for us so that we don't get snow/ice in our paws.

So, we're ready!!!! Let it snow!!!!

Unfortunately, at the moment our snow is melting, but Mom says that I shouldn't worry; we'll have plenty of snow soon enough - and apparently we are supposed to get a BIG storm next week. So I can live with a little melting as long as more is on the way.

In the meantime, Abby and I will frolic in the slush (and the mud!!! Sorry Mom, but mud is fun!!!)

OhBoy!OhBoy!OhBoy!

First, thanks to everyone who voted on my new tag line for my tag from the nice people at Fetching Tags !!! The winner is: "Zoom-Zoom" submitted (albeit possibly unwittingly) by Dennis. We will be making a donation to Dennis' favorite charity (I'm guessing it's his local Vizsla rescue group, being that he is a rescued Vizsla and all, but we'll let you know specifically). Thanks again to everyone who submitted entries and to everyone who voted!!!

Zoom-Zoom is totally appropriate because... Mom and Dad race a Miata (well, it's a Franken-Miata, but it used to be a Miata at one point in its life):

And, because you know I love my zoomies!!! (Especially snow zoomies! And yes, this picture was taken this morning. Yep. That's right. This. Morning.)

And for those of you who, like me, can't get enough of the snow, here are more pictures of Abby and me frolicking in the snow!

Heehee! Lookit me!!! I'm the Abominable Snow-Dog!!!!

Heh. Bitey-face in the snow is always better than bitey-face in the dirt!

Zoom-zoom!

Dad thinks this last one should be our Christmas card!

Mom says it is supposed to stop snowing for the next couple of days, but that I shouldn't worry too much; winter is definitely on its way. She even ordered us some booties so we can continue our hikes through the winter without getting snow/ice/salt in our paws! And I'll show you my new tag when it gets here - I can hardly wait!!!!

HERE'S my snow!!!!

Okay, I now forgive the perky teevee weather people for being dead wrong yesterday. They got it right today!!!!!

The snow party is back on at my house. I'm sure Mom and Dad won't mind a few dozen of my closest, snowiest friends tramping through the house!!!

Where's my snow?!?

The perky weather person on teevee promised me snow. Lots of snow. And the radar looks promising.

I should mention that we live just north of the 'e' and the 'C' on the 'Salt Lake City' part of the map.

In fact, I was planning to throw a big sleep-over with all my Sibe friends. I anticipated snow ball fights, snow person making contests, and general frolicking in the snow. Mom even brought up some wood so we could have a fire and sip hot-toddies. But what do I get?!?

Rain. Lots of rain.

And mud.

And Mom isn't too keen on Abby and me frolicking in the mud; something about how my darling little sister would end up as a giant mud ball. Hmm. I have no idea how that could ever happen.

So, while we can go outside independently, and maybe, if Mom can find some rain gear (sort of like reindeer, but, I'm told, totally different.), we'll go on a walk. But mostly, we'll amuse ourselves with indoor bitey-face, and staring longingly outside for snow...

While we're waiting for snow, go vote for my new name tag (on the upper right hand of this page)!!! Don't forget that the individual who submitted the winning tag line will get a donation to his/her favorite animal charity, so vote early and often!!!

Oh, and Mom seems to think her latest cross-stitch effort is funny. I think it's funny because she didn't specific WHICH doggie did it! Heehee!

Woof indeed!

More smackdowns and the opening of the polls

Okay. So. Where were we?

Oh yeah. Mom and Dad had the final car races of the season this last weekend. The races were out at Miller Motorsports Park, so we loaded up the House With Wheels and prepared for the adventure. Mom and Dad were pretty worn out before the weekend even started, so by the time they set the course Friday afternoon (rather than setting it Saturday morning – Dad was chairing Yet Another Event, and one of the responsibilities is to set the course), and got settled in, they were pretty tired. So after a full day of racing on Saturday, and having firmly established their standings for the season by racing every single event all season, up through the event on Saturday, Mom and Dad decided to skip Sunday’s race and have a leisurely drive home, instead. Which was fine by us. As much as Abby and I love socializing at car races, we like racing around the backyard even better.

Mom was too busy (and tired) to get any pictures from the event, and she hasn’t seen any pictures from anyone else, so just pretend that there are a bunch of car racing pictures here.

But, we’ll oblige you with some running around and wrestling pictures…

C'mon, you big lunker my dear sweet sister, catch me!

Heehee. Good times. But as you can tell, with winter fast approaching, late afternoon pictures are hard to get because the light is getting low. So here are pictures of our smiling faces, just in case you've forgotten what we look like! :-)

Now, speaking of smiling faces... I got a few entries for my new name tag line (I'm guessing the rest of you must have gotten so caught up in thinking of entries that you fell asleep... hey, it has happened to me...), and after using a little artistic license, I have the following options available (I'm including the name of the submitter because the winning line will have a donation made to their favorite animal charity):

  • Zoom-zoom (Dennis - although I'm not sure he meant this as a tag entry, Mom thought it was appropriate given that they race a Miata)
  • The Good Dog (Khyra)
  • The Goldenator (Mango - this is my 'wrestling name')
  • Fiona the Fair (Twix)
  • I Was First (Tank)
  • The Very Good Sister (Bobo and Meja - actually, we had to shorten their entry a tad!)
  • Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum (Wild Dingo)
  • *Kissey Face* (Daisy Dog)
  • First in Flight (Granny and Grandpa)

Mom thinks she's got the voting thing working, so vote away. She's got it set up so you can pick multiple names (just in case you can't decide), and she's hoping that you can vote early and often (but she doesn't really know how the 'poll' thing works in Blogger, so who knows how she has it set up..). Anyhoo, voting is open for a week, and remember the tag line with the most number of votes will go on my new name tag from Fetching Tags so as the Crusader in the third Indiana Jones movie said, "Choose wisely". Heehee. And again, the winner's favorite charity gets a donation, so please vote!!!

PeeEss: Mom is trying to figure out a new bloggie layout, so be patient if things look funny for a while - she hasn't found a layout she likes, and isn't clever enough (or maybe she said patient enough - I can't remember) to create one of her own...

Elwood Blues

Heehee. We are getting ready to head off to the last races of the season (it's a weekend, so we're taking the House With Wheels, and Abby and I will get to watch the humans do their zoomies), so I don't have any pictures from our latest walkies/wrestling escapades. Instead, I'll show you a couple of pictures from Dad's band rehearsal last night.

I was the refined music enthusiast.

Abby, on the other hand, was a totally groupie.

*sheesh* What a suck-up.

She even nudged in on my scratchies.

This girl is a serious groupie...

Anyway, yeah, Dad's getting the band back together. I'm not sure if he's on a mission from gawd or not, but we're gonna call him 'Elwood' anyway!

Heehee.
