Snow! (Finally!)

Just this last weekend, we were frolicking in the sun, catching frisbees with abandon,

 and zooming around the yard in fun times fall zoomies....

All the while, we were wondering where our early-season dose of white stuff was.   I mean, usually by this time of year, we've had at least a dusting of snow.  But not this year.  At least not until last night, when we finally started to see a few flakes falling from the sky...

 And by this afternoon, we had some measurable snow (but not enough to create issues with Mom's commute - for which she was quite happy!).

And when Mom got home, we went out and test out the first snow of the season.

 Seriously, bitey-face is ALWAYS better in new snow.  Just trust us on this one!

Woo-hoo!  Snow zoomies!

Yes, I do look rather stunning with a snowy backdrop, if I do say so myself!

Yes, Abby took advantage of the snow to do what she does best!  (Biggify at your own risk - apparently this picture has caused uncontrollable desires in some people to give snooter kisses to snowy-snootered dogs!  Okay, fine.  I'll admit it; Abby's doing her cute thing!)

"Please, sir.  Can we have some more?"

It's a little unclear if we are going to get more snow or not (the weather-guessers say yes, but the radar looks a little empty at the moment), but it's supposed to stay cold for a couple of days, so we might get a few more chances to enjoy the first snow of the season!

 And for those of you pups who would like some early snow, (you know who you are, Khyra, and the Herd, to name a few) we'll get the rubber band wound up on AirFiona and headed you direction, so you can enjoy the white stuff with us!

We have Warp Speed!*

Heh!  Mom has finally re-installed everything on her computer, so the ship has been righted.  Also, fearing a loss of irreplaceable** bitey-face-in-snow pictures, Granny and Grandpa bought Mom a 2TB (yes, that would be terabyte) external hard drive as an early birthday present, so Mom can back up ALL our bitey-face photos!  And 2TB should hold A LOT of bitey-face photos!  Thanks, Granny and Grandpa!

So, a few things to catch-up on.  First, for those of you who might not have been paying close attention, Abby took 3rd place in the Working Stiff class at Mango Minster!  
  

While I'm impressed with Abby's mastery of the blarney (seriously... did you read her entry?), and I'm proud that she placed (the competition was Very Tough!), I'm equally pleased that a REAL working dog won the class!  And, of course, I was thrilled to judge the Too Darn Cute category (and even more thrilled to see that Miss Mollie Jo won Best in Show!)  As always HUGE thanks to Mango and the Mango Momma for putting on the Greatest Dog/Critter Show in the Universe!

We also finally got some more snow, and Mom finally took some pictures of us.  While Mom seems to like her SuperNerdy job, it really cuts into her picture taking time... However, she did get over 200 pictures of us this weekend, so I can't complain TOO much... 

We continued to test the tensile strength of the frisbees...

 
And we got in a little frisbee snow zoomie time...

And yes, there were snow zoomies for the sake of snow zoomies! 

We did sit still for a moment or two, so Mom could snap a picture of us 'hanging out'.  Heheh!

**Irreplaceable in the sense that no bitey-face-in-snow picture is exactly the same; they're like snowflakes - we get lots of snow every year, but each snowflake is different... Or so we're telling Mom!

New Snow!

We've gotten snow the last two days (and there is supposed to be more tonight).  And while Mom's work severely limits her ability to get bitey-face-in-snow photos, Mom has been doing her best.  And we're doing our best to enjoy the white floofy stuff!

Oh yeah!  New snow!  Bring it on!  Mom would prefer that the new snow is brought on over the weekend, so she doesn't have to drive in it, but even though we are snow dogs, we don't have much control over the snow gods!  Heehee!

Really the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

First, Mango Minster has started!   You have until 5pm EST Monday to go vote on the Too Darn Cute entries (voting is by comments, one vote per household).  The competition is REALLY TOUGH; judging the cuties is totally taxing the mentals!  Voting for the Working Stiff class (where Abby is entered) is on Wednesday through Thursday at 5pm EST, if you want to vote for my hard working sister.  But go check out all the classes - there's nothing like Mango Minster!

The only thing that is better than the start of Mango Minster is the start of Mango Minster with snow!

We've had a weird winter, with not a lot of snow, and this snow was wet and heavy, but snow is snow, and when one has new snow, one MUST bitey one's sister.

There is more to life than just biteying one's sister, however.  There is also Frisbee Fun Time!

Happy Bitey-Face, erm, Boxing Day!

Bitey-face is like boxing, right?  Sort of?  Maybe?  Oh, Mom just said that Boxing Day has nothing to do with pugilistic activities, and has more to do with tipping one's servants.  Does that mean Abby and I have to tip Mom?  I bet if we both jumped on her at once, we could knock her down.  Which would sort of be like tipping her...


*ahem*

Regardless of what Mom says, Abby and I are CERTAIN Boxing Day is celebrated with bitey-face exhibitions. 

We've got our anti-gravity boots on here!

This Boxing Day stuff is pretty cool!

But let you think we do nothing but bitey each other all day, let me assure you we do other funballs things, like chasing each other around The Bush.  (Ignore the shovel - that is Mom's 'waste management tool' - also known as the Poo Flinger...)

We could do this all day.  And frequently do until Mom gets cold and calls us in, and then we come running!
