Merry Christmas!

This whole Christmas thing is WAY cool.    First, we got goodies from Mom's co-workers:

Nifty paw-print blankie perfect for curling up on after snow zoomies
Nifty squeaky toy with rope leggies for tug-o-war
And then, as cool as the pressies are, even better was the fact that Mom had a Four Day Weekend!!! How cool is THAT?!?

We took full advantage of the long weekend.  On Saturday morning, we had doggie class, where we showed what wonderful students we are.

You might think this is our backyard, but it is really the little park near Petco.

Abby is a suck-up while I'm just attentive - can't you tell?

Yep, we can do this 'recall' thing!

Me working for treats while Abby just looks like a goofball.  What else is new?  Heehee.
"Hi.  My name is Fiona.  Do you have any treats?"
After doggie class we hung out at home and did the frisbee thing.

Then on Sunday it snowed!  Dad wasn't super happy about the snow, but we had fun!

Because the weather was snowy and cloudy and snowplows were out and people were driving around doing Christmas shopping, and Mom wanted to be visible, she put on her Santa suit.  (The picture is a little off-kilter because Mom was using the self-timer...)

"Mom - would you stop taking pictures and get us out on our walkies?"
At least Mom was really visible!  Which was a good thing, as the roads were pretty snowy!

With all the new snow, we got in some Serious Snow Time!

Oh yeah!  There's no zoomies like snow zoomies!

Today (Christmas Day) was cold and sunny, and Mom took us on several long walkies, and we opened pressies (Seriously, Mom, grooming equipment?!?  You might as well have bought us socks and underwear.  At least Granny and Grandpa got us some goodies!).  Mom cooked (okay, heated) and ham for dinner, and we all had a big Christmas dinner, followed by some serious nap time...

Can't. Keep. Eyes. Open.
Heehee!  Unfortunately, Mom has to go back to work for the rest of the week, but then she's got ANOTHER four day weekend!  We can't wait!!!

So more funballs times next weekend, too, right Mom?!?
Merry Christmas to all our family and friends across the country and around the world!

Merry Christmas!

We have been preparing for the arrival of Sandy Paws by demonstrating what Good Girls we are!

We share stuff...

See, we're totally sharing the Frisbee!  Heehee!

And we've been exercising in preparation for all the Christmas goodies that are sure to come our way...

And we've been Extra Good in showing our sisterly affection for each other....

Yep, we're totally prepared!  Heehee!

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends across the world!

PeeEss:  Don't forget to leave out scotch and chew-toys for Santa and his Reindogs!  (If you don't know about Reindogs, be sure to read Mogley's Most Informative Post - the reindeer just have better press agents, while the reindogs are doing all the work!)

Holiday Update

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

We certainly did. Either Santa has loosened up on the requirements for making it onto the 'nice' list, or the wee dram of "aqua vitae" that Mom left for him (and the gourmet dog cookies left for the Reindogs) helped 'grease the wheels' so to speak, because we did quite nicely by Santa! Not only did we get tons of snow right before Christmas (thanks again, Tank!), but we did quite well in the pressie department, too. We got a couple of 'Skinneeez' (of which we have no pictures, because while they have no stuffing, they have squeakers in them, and Abby has totally de-squeaked one of them - the other one is probably in hiding...), a snake stuffie (that has miraculously remained intact - for the moment), a bunch of bully sticks, some Jumbones, and a couple of containers of gourmet dog cookies. Thanks, Santa!!! (And thanks, Granny and Grandpa!)

Anyhoo, we got up early on Christmas morning so we could get in some quality early-morning zoomies before Mom and Dad went skiing... (Skiing on Christmas day is a tradition.)

Mom and Dad came home and we got in some quality bitey-face time

Note to Santa: Next year, could you take my sister and bring me a hamster instead? Thanks - Fiona

Mom and Dad did the pressie thing and we had roast chicken for dinner (and Mom let us have a little bit in the kitchen, on account of it being a holiday and all!). We had a quite evening snoozling. All in all, it was a perfect day.

I do have one question: when does Santa start making his naughty/nice list for next year? He takes at least a few days off after the Christmas rush, doesn't he?

I'm thinking we've got a couple of days where Santa won't really notice our behavior...

Although I'm going to reiterate my request for a hamster. Somehow my little sister has gotten, well, not so little any more, and there are more and more scenes like this:

Seriously. What is up with that?!?

She is getting WAY tougher to take down. And as often as not, it is SHE who is taking ME down. *sigh*

At least I am still Queen of the Zoomies!

And Queen of the Frisbee

Where Abby is, uh, Queen of, uh, Sitting in the Snow...

Heehee!

Happy holidays to everyone!

Letters to Santa

Dear Santa,

I can explain. Really, I can. I used to be a Very Good Dog.

And then my parents brought home this puppy monster. She started off all cute and stuff, but she quickly grew to be large and unmanageable.

I try VERY HARD to be a good dog, but a girl has to keep puppy monsters in line, right? Hopefully that won’t count against me.

For Christmas, I would very much like some jumbones, some toys that my sister does not immediately steal from me and destroy, and some bully sticks. However, since my parents and grandparents spoil me, if you’d rather drop my goodies off at a needy dog shelter, that would work, too.

We had to forgo the traditional milk, as no one here drinks milk (and we’d offer you single malt scotch, but I’d hate for the Utah Skyway Patrol to pull you over for DPUI (delivering presents under the influence) but we have some high-quality dog cookies for your Reindogs. Safe travels, Santa!

Merry Christmas!
-Fiona

Dear Santa,

Um. I was a puppy for 94.7% of this year. I think that explains everything.

I would like lots of stuffies with squeakers, things to chew on, and my sister to let me have equal sit-by-Mom time. Right now my sister hogs the space right next to Mom; she’s there ALL THE TIME, and I’d like to be able to sit next to Mom, too, occasionally.

Thanks!

-Abby

PeeEss: Santa, thanks for all the snow you sent us, via Tank's request! Mom might need some more towels, if you haven't gone shopping for her yet....
