'Tis the Season for Sisterly Love and the Donner Party

There are a lot of photos in this post. Click on the first one to biggify it and get the full experience - although you might want to do that after you've read the post, or you'll miss all my pithy comments!

The wee Bandersnatch is starting to grow up a bit, and as such, she's becoming more and more fun to play with.  I mean, bitey-ing her when she was even 12 weeks old wouldn't have been very fair - I mean, look at that little face.  But now that she is 5 months old and well on her way to being a real dog, it is time to get serious about bitey-face.  And since we got new snow for Christmas (thank you, Bing Crosby!), and we ALL know that bitey-face is better in new snow, well, let's just say that the Bandersnatch and I had a grand time.  For the record, the Bandersnatch wanted to play with me even when she was a wee baby Bandersnatch, but I didn't want to scare her, or even worse, come across as a big meanie.  Because while I am many things, I am not a big meanie!

Let the bitey-face games begin!

Mom loves this photo - she says it reminds her of how Abby and I used to bitey each other and she's glad to see that I haven't lost a beat!

Daisy gives as good as she gets!

I need to work on my scruff-of-the-neck grab while I still have the size advantage!

Daisy LIKES rolling in the snow. Trust me.  When you see the pictures later in the post from one of our walkies, you'll see what I mean!

Do you see those teeth of hers?!? She's only got a few little puppy razor teeth left - most of her teethies are big dog teethies!
Daisy REALLY likes rolling in the snow.  No, I promise - she really does! I think she thinks that bitey-ing from below gives her some sort of strategic advantage! Why else would she always be on the ground?

The abominable Bandersnatch!
I am having fun with the Bandersnatch, and there are some advantages to being the big (and totally not a meanie) sister!

Puppy?  What puppy?  There's no puppy here!  Oh, you mean THAT puppy!  I didn't do anything, I promise. I was just standing her and she flopped herself under my feeties.
Daisy says there is a bit more to the story than that. However, I would add that Daisy brings this all on herself!

She's having fun! Really!  Heehee!
Don't think that I am just a bully, however.  Daisy likes to attackle me (attack and tackle) every chance she gets.  And honestly, she scares me just a bit...  And she likes to jump on my back...

She's about to bitey my ear, isn't she?

Eeeeiieee!  Those teeth!

I think she's been watching Kung Fu movies when I'm napping!

Seriously, she sort of scares me!

She is sort of fearless...

Eeeieee!

And when I'm not protecting myself from the Puppy Jaws of Doom, I kind of like the crazy beast.

She's crazy.  I'm telling ya!

She's also a camera hog. And standing on a snowbank.
So, on to the Donner Party.  Christmas Day brought the continuation of a snowstorm that hit Christmas Eve.  However, being the health doggies that we are, we insisted that Mom and Dad take us on our regularly scheduled walkies.  On one of the walkies, it was snowing and blowing quite hard, and we felt that we were re-enacting the Donner Party adventures.  (For the record, Daisy is tender and tastes like chicken.... Heehee!)

We headed out, some of us walking like mature doggies, and others of us bounding along like crazed bunny rabbits.

It wasn't long before we encountered Donner Party conditions. Luckily Daisy has some meat on her bones!

And how did Miss Crazy Cakes respond to the weather?  By rolling in the snow.

And flopping down in the snow every few feet. Because, apparently, Bandersnatches are arctic creatures!
Luckily, we made it safely home, and even went on more walkies/snow flopping adventures!

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the holidays! I know we are - and we are spoiled with having Mom home for a bunch of days in a row, so stay tuned for more bitey-face and walkie photos!

She still doesn't catch frisbees, but she's better at retrieving them!

A rare photo of me not being attacked by the wee beastie!

There are snacks, right?

Let Daisy outside for 2 nanoseconds, and she's covered in snow!

PeeEss: You may notice in some of the photos that I have a shaved belly.  I have been waking up several times in the night to go star-gazing, but Mom was worried that there was something else going on, so after not seeing any signs of urinary tract infections, the vet recommended an ultrasound to rule out any other issues. I am happy to say that my insides are all perfectly normal, and I am on some medications to help Mom get some sleep. (Yes, you read that right. I have no problems waking up at night, as I can nap during the day, but apparently when Mom goes to the Great Kibble Provider, she's not supposed to nap!)  I keep trying to tell Mom that I'm just star-gazing, and Mom should really appreciate the beauty of the night sky, but she just mutters something about wanting to sleep. Talk about being no fun!  But I am trying to sleep so Mom isn't so grouchy at 2am...
