A Scary Tale For Halloween

Well, scary for those of us who are frightened by little puppy monsters with sharp little teeth and deceptively fast little leggies....

Don't get me wrong. I sort of like my sister, when she's napping.  But she sort of terrifies me when she's racing after me with those jaws that bite and claws that catch.  (Yes, I think she should have a name tag that reads 'Jabberwock' but Mom says that wouldn't fit on a tag. I say if Hippobottomus fit on a tag, Jabberwock totally should.  Mom thinks it would look weird hyphenated, since it wouldn't all fit on one line... Of course, I also think 'Bandersnatch' would be a great name for Daisy... Clearly I need to talk more with Mom about this.)

Seriously - how would YOU feel with something like this coming after you?

You think I look happy here - I'm really trying to plot my next move!

Aaaah!!! She's after me!!
And she does this All The Time.  Seriously.

Oy.

I mean, can't a girl just enjoy some quality tennis ball time?

Only if Mom throws it DEEP into the yard.

Otherwise, the wee beastie is right underfoot. (And then she tries to bitey my foot!)
This is Scary Stuff!

I keep hoping that if I just don't look down, she'll not attempt to bitey me.

However, I really should know better by now...

*sigh*
The worst part, is that the wee beastie even thinks SHE is the Princess of the Tennis Balls.

Not quite yet, my short little friend...

Yup. Cue the Ennio Morricone music.
On the other hand, she can look so cute, when she's not baring her teeth...

She has perfected this look, so when she does something bad, she just has to pull this face, and Mom forgives her.

How does she look SO INNOCENT when we all know that she's thinking about bitey-ing me?!?

And she does seem to manage to tie herself up into Puppy Pretzels, allowing me plenty of time to escape.

I guess I am going to have to put up with this for quite a while....

*sigh*
Have a great week, and hope I develop some sort of puppy-shield, or I'm going to end up with a lot of puppy tooth-sized holes in me!

Yet More Photos of Daisy

And a few of me. Because if there were no photos of me, I would be lodging a formal complain with someone who could actually do something. Like, uh, well, it doesn't matter, because there are photos of me, too.

Like this one.

Help me!!!
No, actually there are some photos of me without my crazy puppy sister attacking me...

However, there are a lot more photos of the wee beastie attackling me (yes, that word is right - a combination of attack and tackle...)...

Do you see the teeth on this thing?!?

Really?!?

*sigh*
Welcome to my life - being attackled by this crazy puppy monster.  At least Mom is trying to encourage Crazy Daisy to chase tennis balls and frisbees and things that aren't just me.  Daisy hasn't quite grasped the concept of 'catching' yet, but anything that gets her chasing something other than my leggies is good by me!

Mom brought out the frisbees today; they are about the size of Daisy's body, but they keep her busy!

Yes, she is on the long leash when she goes out in the yard because she can't be trusted!

Crazy puppy!
Crazy Cakes (aka Daisy) has also been working on her Looking Cute for Snacks skills (an important skill set to have, I might add...).

In spite of all of her looking cute (which she does well, I will admit), she is a complete doofus, as illustrated by this photo of her attacking a perfectly harmless stick!

While there are no photos of Puppy Class, Daisy is continuing to learn how to be a puppy.  One hopes that she will eventually learn how to be less of a doofus, although I suspect that topic isn't covered until one reaches the Adult Doggie classes.  I continue to attend puppy classes, where I practice the skills behind a folding screen, so all the crazy puppies don't terrify me.  Seriously. A class full of these sharp-toothed wee beasties - it's TERRIFYING!

I hold out hope that eventually Daisy will grow up and be a Real Dog. In the meantime, I like her when her rubber band has unwound and she's tired!  Heehee!

Have a great week!

Daisy is No Archbishop of Canterbury

But,

Will no one rid me of this meddlesome beast?!?

*ahem*

Don't get me wrong. Daisy is cute, and as far as puppies go, she's not too bad.  And trust me, I know. Daisy had her first official puppy class on Saturday, and I went too, partially because Mom didn't want to leave me home alone (I would have been FINE; just cue up a couple of seasons of Dogs with Jobs on Netflix, give me a bowl of snacks, and life would have been fine), and partially because she thought it would be great family bonding.  Yuh.  Whatever. All those little puppy monsters made me all nervous, and so I did all the exercises behind a little screen - I could see Dad and Daisy (and Mom, of course) but I didn't have to see all the little puppy monsters.  So I guess that was a plus with class - I did get to see that I could have a puppy sibling that is much crazier than Daisy.

But still.  I went out for some quality tennis ball time this weekend, and the wee beast joined me. Which is totally fine. She has to learn important skills like chasing tennis balls and barking at the neighbors, but she hasn't quite figured out that I am the Queen of the Tennis Balls.

See, I am the Queen!

Her leggies are WAY too short to run with me!

And yet she seems to think she can engage me in Tennis Ball Games.
Daisy even thinks she is a Big Dog and can chase tennis balls like me.

I'll admit it; she's got attitude. And maybe in time she'll be an excellent tennis ball protege. But in the meantime, seems to think that if she can't chase tennis balls, she can just bitey me, instead.

Lookit those mini Jaws of Doom!

No, Daisy, my leg does NOT taste like chicken, no matter what you say!
Did I mention that Daisy has been diagnosed as Just Plain Nuts? Apparently that is a common condition for puppies....
*sigh*

However, she does wear out fairly quickly, and then she plops down in the grass...

Leaving me free to chase more tennis balls!

But I'm getting more used to the wee beastie.  Even if she tries to bitey me all the time! But I think when I get her trained, we'll make a great team!

Have a great week!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Fi here! I was finally able to wrest control of my bloggie back from Mom. First, thank you all for the thoughts and kind notes about Abby. I miss my Hippobottomus of a sister, and I'm still not entirely sure about this Rodent of Unusual Size that Mom and Dad keep telling me is my sister, but she is starting to grow on me, a bit like a fungus.  Mom, would you STOP editing my blog!

*ahem*

Anyhoo, I am slowly growing used to my sister and I'm sure in time she'll be pulling out my tail hairs we'll be zooming around the yard together like a couple of crazy kids.

But enough of that. We got SNOW today! Not much, and it won't last long, but it was a good chance to see if Crazy Daisy would be good at snow zoomies.  (Mom says I should say that my sister's name is just Daisy and not Crazy Daisy, but trust me, she is totally Crazy Daisy!)

She's not bad for a little doggie with little leggies! I'm still not 100% certain about doing zoomies with her yet - she's a little crazy!

Face-plant coming in 5...4....3...  Heehee!

And she tends to bark at me for no good reason!

But she is learning to follow my lead.
Crazy Daisy has definitely mastered the whole Looking Cute on Command thing.

And while this seems like it is All Crazy Daisy All The Time, trust me, I was out having a grand time, too!

Have a great week and stayed tuned for more of our adventures!
