We finally made it!!!

So finally, after all of the work delays, and snow delays, and blah-blah-whatever delays, we finally made it to southern Utah!!!!

Mom had the car packed two days ago (before the massive snow storm), and so after everyone recovered from all the snow removal yesterday, Mom and Dad were ready to go to southern Utah this morning. TaiChi got us up at about 6:45am, and so by 7:45am, we were in the car and ready to go.

Abby and I were in the back seat (with a pile of stuff secured behind us).

TaiChi can't be trusted to be in the back seat with us, and really doesn't like being in her crate, so she rode slept in the front where Mom's feet were supposed to go. (Mom's feet were all folded up so TaiChi would have plenty of room.)

TaiChi slept pretty much the whole time. Except for when she was moving around getting comfortable; but since Mom gave her fluids before we left, TaiChi traveled pretty well.

Here we are driving down our street this morning; it was 19 degrees out!

And while the road down Parley's Canyon was clear (unlike yesterday where it was open on to vehicles with chains or four wheel drive all morning) you could see snow where there was none a few days before.

Once we got out of the canyon, the roads were clear, and the weather was fine, so I checked out the scenery,

And Abby napped. And napped. And napped some more.

Seriously, she napped like almost the entire 4.5 hour drive!

See what I mean?!?

Finally, we reached Mom's favorite part of the highway: where you can legally drive how fast she usually drives! ;-)

Actually, Dad drove the entire way down, and he pretty much sticks to the speed limit out of respective for their car insurance premiums!

Finally, we saw the sign we were all looking for:

Yay! One mile to the winter home of the House With Wheels!

And then we were there - the storage unit that housed the House With Wheels.

To Mom and Dad's great pleasure, the HWW (House With Wheels) started right up as soon as Dad turned the batteries on, and after much help from the guy working at the storage facility, Dad was able to maneuver the HWW out of the storage space (it was a REALLY tight squeeze!). We were ready for the final part of the journey!

We made to to Zion River Resort with no issues, and Mom and Dad got us settled in very quickly! (For the record it was 67 degrees here this afternoon!)

And Abby got her first taste of life in the HWW. I think she'll be a pro at it in No Time!

Here's the view out our front door!

Mom and Dad are hinting at our first hike tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have some cool hiking pictures for you!

PeeEss: Mom says it is supposed to be 75 degrees tomorrow, and she's quite happy about this!

Fiona, it appears that Mini-Me is fitting right in, napping in the HWW and such. Tell Mom to keep it under 85, okay?
