A Brief Update From the Land of No Updates

Yes, I know. Mom has been Really Bad about updating. And don't even get me started about reading bloggies. She is so far behind in the bloggy world, that she's NEVER going to catch up.

But I guess she has a good excuse. The weather this weekend was Really Nice, so we went on several hikes (but, of course, Mom only brought her phone, so we just have these lame little pictures...):

As you can see, most of the leaves have fallen down, making for great crunchy noises. Except they also seem to cover over rocks and roots on the trail, and Mom tripped on one yesterday, and would have recovered fine, but her feet moving fast through the leaves sort of scared me and I bolted, and well, I guess I don't know my own strength, because the next thing I knew, Mom was on the ground, and kind of muddy, and muttering words that I'm too young to repeat. Note from Fi's Mom: all is fine, and poor Fi was so freaked out by the crunching leaves - she has never liked being chased, and I can only imagine what she thought must have been chasing her as I was trying to regain my balance! But, no harm, no foul!'

I should clarify that I LIKE the sound of crunching leaves. I just don't like the sound of a herd of elephants crunching through the leaves - which is exactly the sound that Mom makes when she trips and tries to recover her balance. Silly bipeds.

I guess Mom and Dad also went bye-sickle-ing this weekend, but really, who cares?

Today, though the weather is pretty nasty, so no hike for me today. Besides, Dad has some doctor's appointment that he has been preparing for all day yesterday with clear liquids, and stuff. I'm Not Even Going To Tell You what is happening to him today because, well, it is Too Frightening to Contemplate. Note from Fi's Mom: I'm not telling either. But it's just a routine exam, and nothing that we (meaning me - Gary's not thrilled in the slightest!) are worried about.

We have some (but not all) of the news on TaiChi. Apparently she has an e. coli infection in her bladder, and will be on antibiotics for a while, but they have pretty much ruled out cancer of any sort. So she gets to eat peanut butter (with the pills hidden inside) for a while longer until she is all better. But, she told me that she is feeling much better, and she's all into the peanut butter thing.

Finally, Mom has been sewing this weekend. She says she's almost done (she hopes to be done tomorrow), and will post a picture of it. She says it is doggie related, but I'll believe it when I see it!

Now Mom says she needs her computer back, so I'd better go. If I get a chance, I'll borrow her computer and start catching up on the bloggies!

Excellent news for TaiChi, not so great news for Gary (but at least we hope for good test results). Just remember that the dogs all think that is payback for certain events at the vets.

Oh no! My daddy had to drink a bunch of the nasty drinkies once for an exam and let's just say that he was not at all pleased what the exam was doing to him...

Can't wait to see your mommy's craft!

Fiona! How ever did you curve your most curly self into the S shape in the first photo? You are like some modern dance artist.

Yuh, I would run too if I thought my momma was going to fall on top of me. Ouch!

I bet your dad is getting one of those coal and oscar pee exams. My momma is supposed to get one too, but she said nuh uh.

Hi Fiona
See you were out in enjoying some autumn walks as well, apart from the crunching leaves and falling humans that is! Glad your Mom wasn't hurt though! Good luck to your Dad with that test - the nslm's Mom had a similar test a few months ago - not nice at all!
Thank you for the lovely comments about my shaggy coat - I was at the groomers today but my coat is safe!
take care

You look lovely in the leaves - you are almost the same colour. Sorry about the crunchy leaves and falling bipeds - can put off your concentration. Hope all goes well with the Doctors appointment - even routine ones can be stressful.

Lots of licks

Who knew the leaves could e so hazardous? My mom just curses at them when she goes poop-scooping, as our little land-mines are so much harder to find! I'm with you Fiona, these bipeds have issues!
