More Hiking with Lucy

Mom is clearly having fun taking photos of Lucy on the hiking trails.  Daisy and I are just having fun hiking.  So, I guess everyone is happy!  BTW, Mom was going for a certain 'look' in most of these photos, so she photoshopped out Dad's legs and the leash - but don't worry, Lucy was never running free!

Notice her very stylish name tag!

Lucy does like to take time to stop and eat the flowers!

Of course, some times Lucy just likes to stop! Heehee!
Needless to say, I'll keep you posted on all the fun with Lucy!

Even More Photos of Lucy

It is I, St. Fiona the Patient, (okay, so I haven't been canonized yet, but I'm sure that's only because the Pope has been busy doing other things), reporting from my closet, as it is a puppy-free zone, and I can relax in peace!

Mom continues to take photos of Lucy. It's almost like Mom has never seen a puppy before, but apparently every puppy is different. I can assure you that Daisy is definitely different - possibly even a different species, but that's another topic for another day.

You are here to see photos of Lucy-fur, and so you shall!

She's coming to get you! (Again, I'm hiding in the closet, so I'm safe. Protect yourself!)

Mom is ooh-ing and aah-ing over this photo. Something about puppy portraits...
Lucy-fur is a fan of tennis balls (and their rubber ball equivalents). It probably has something to do with them being a bit smaller than the frisbees!

Getting ready to pounce on a tennis ball!
BTW, if you had ANY doubts as to whether Daisy and Lucy are related, these photos should remove those doubts!

Hopefully Lucy-fur won't grow up to be as crazy as Daisy.  (I'm not actually sure that is possible!)

I am maintaining my happily aloof position, so as to not be attacked by either puppy (because really, Daisy is still a puppy, too!).

And with that, have a good week - Mom has to go back to work tomorrow, but she'll try to help me with the blog posts.

Puppy butt!

The Continuing Antics of Lucy-Fur

Like any Goldendoodle worth her salt, Lucy likes Frisbees.

Of course, being a puppy, sometimes she has a hold on the Frisbee and sometimes the Frisbee has a hold on her... But, being a puppy, Lucy doesn't seem to care...

You may notice that there isn't a lot of ground clearance for the Frisbee - which means that sometimes somepuppies feet can step on the Frisbee...

Tug-of-war. Sort of.

I think the Frisbee won this one!

I'm not sure if Lucy has the Frisbee here, or if the Frisbee has caught her!
Lucy has also discovered sticks. Sticks!

"Hi, Dad. I present you with this stick as a token of my affection."
Now, this last one I'm not so sure about - either she has run out of energy and 'splatted' or she's stalking something. It's sort of hard to tell....

I will continue to keep you posted on Lucy's great adventures!

Hiking with Lucy

So, yeah. Lucy's this little puppy thing, and only yesterday she made her first trips around the block...

She actually made the trip 3 times, so today Mom and Dad decided that she was ready for a hike. (The vet said it was okay, although Mom and Dad shouldn't expect her to go very far.)  So, we went hiking.

This is actually at the top of the access trail, but you get the idea!
Lucy has been known to just lay down in the middle of a walk, and it was no great surprise when she decided to "take a break".

Needless to say, I found it all rather amusing!
Mom and Dad were prepared for this, and since Dad didn't want to do this for the whole hike:

He was prepared with his Puppy Sack.  (I think it is actually called a K9 Sport Sack, but it is also a puppy containment device...)

Mom was walking Daisy, as Lucy likes Daisy, and wants to follow her, so before the Puppy Sack was put into action, there was a lot of this:

So, Lucy is now officially a hiker - and we can sort of get back to our regularly scheduled hikes. AND, now Lucy is sacked out (some pun intended!) - and as we all know, a tired puppy is a good puppy!

Stay tuned for more adventures!

Family Photos

You knew this was coming....

Lucy's two month photo...

Mom would like everyone to know that there was NO head-swapping in photoshop with this photo - this is all as we are!
And Mom got this idea from one of the people she knows at the animal shelter. So, be prepared for updates on Lucy-fur's "milestones"!

And, for those of you who were curious, here is Lucy in her crate, with her "long-distance duck" for her Granny and Grandpa. (If you are not a fan of the old British comedy "'Allo Allo", it will take too long to explain the long-distance duck reference...)

No idea why she likes smooshing herself up against the side of the crate...
BTW, Lucy actually walked all the way around the block today (this is a first for her), so expect some walking photos soon!

Yet More of a Girl and Her Tennis Ball

Lucy is well on her way to becoming a Tennis Ball Hound. (Although Mom saw some evidence tonight that she's also on her way to becoming a frisbee hound...)  It's actually pretty impressive, given that her head is only slightly larger than the tennis ball... For the record, she's not actually catching the tennis ball yet, but, again, there's that whole head-to-tennis ball ratio thing...

Mighty Puppy Jaws of Doom!

She takes her tennis ball carrying quite serious!

She also carries leaves.

Note the size of the tennis ball and the size of her head...

I am still remaining politely aloof. I mean, how do I know that this wee little ball of fluff isn't going to sneak up on me and steal my tail feathers?!?

No puppies in sight!
Daisy, on the other hand, continues to be a member of the Mutual Admiration Society.... (Which is a good thing, since Lucy is really Daisy's puppy...)

This is awfully brave of Daisy. Of course, it's brave of Lucy, too, as Daisy is crazy....
Needless to say, I'll keep you posted on the adventures here!

A Girl and Her Ball

Quite possibly the cutest thing you will see today!

Even I, Fiona, will admit that this is pretty darn cute!
