The bad news first; Abby's cancer has spread to her spleen and if it hasn't already spread further, likely will. Her appetite is off, and it looks like her time with us may be shorter than we expected. However, her tail continues to wag, and for now, she continues to enjoy her tennis ball time.
Because of the bad news about Abby, our search for a companion dog for Fi (and for us) had to get kicked into high gear. After discovering that there were no dogs that met out needs (I am mildly allergic to dogs) and Fi's personality at local shelters and rescues, we checked with a local breeder. As luck would have it, she had one 8 week old female Goldendoodle. A black Goldendoodle, actually.
Accepting that we were probably certifiable, we took the leap, and have now added little Daisy to our family. Fi and Abby both did the sniff test when we first got home, and Abby was wagging her tail, and Fi is rather intrigued with her littlest sister.

It's been a tiring first evening for Daisy! |

Daisy is adorable. Congratulations on your new sissy, girls!
We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, Abby♥
Daisy is absolutely gorgeous, welcome to your new home little one.
Sending thoughts and prayers to Abby. <3
I'm sorry about Abby's bad news. I know your heart must be breaking over her loss. The baby girl doesn't replace Abby's place in your heart, she simply makes her own little nest there.
The sweet new little one is a doll!
We're sorry to hear that Abby's cancer is spreading. We will keep our paws crossed for her and all her family. Little Daisy is a cutie and we are sure she will be a great friend for Fi.
Although it is bittersweet - we are sure the Daisy is going to help heal the broken heart when the time comes. She will never replace Abby but you will love Daisy in different ways and for different reasons and Abby's memories will live with you forever.

Cancer sucks! So glad you found Daisy! What a joy to add and I think quite perfect timing for Abby too! Something about puppies and puppy kisses makes all the sucky things just disappear from our brains. even for big sisfurs.
lots of love to woo.
Looks like you are off to a good start on the black dog photography! Still awaiting Daisy's weight though . . .
Your Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
I'm so sorry about the cancer news. I'm glad that your girl still is playing like she's just fine. Dogs' spirits are incredible.
I love your new cutie. What a time of highs and lows for you, both at the same time.
So sorry to hear the news about Abby. Having lost our beautiful dog Lulu recently I know how you must be feeling.
That's the thing about dogs, in the end they always break your heart.
I am so sorry to hear that Abby's cancer is spreading, but it is so nice to see how happy she is despite the bad news. Welcome home to sweet Daisy!!! For more happy moments together:)

I just got the update. I'm so very, very sorry. Having gone through this with my brother and Barkley the Lab, both diagnosed around the same time, dying within
a couple weeks of another, I know what you are dealing with and wish I could do something to spare you the pain. Hold close the memories.

I just saw the sad news at the POTP blog - so very sorry for your loss. I wish I could say I can only imagine the heartbreak you are going through but reality is I know it too well. I am sure Daisy will help with the healing - I know she cannot replace Abby nor should that ever be expected. Many hugs to you all.

WI'm over from POTP. "C" hits again? Bummer, big time. Kyla (RIP Dec 2014) is there and can show her the drill at the bridge. We've been there (in Kyla's case melanoma) and it hurts.
I'm so sorry Abby is gone. Well, she isn't gone. She just lives somewhere else now, where she gets to play free with all the other dogs we've all lost. Rest in peace, miss Abby.
I didn't knows Abby, butts she sure seems like a most lovely and FABulous gurl. I am so very sorry for your loss. I know this is a very hard time for all of you, and I am sendin' AireZens your way.
Daisy is such a cutie! I am glad that Abby got to give her wag of approval to her adorable little sis.
{{{hugs}}}
Ruby ♥
