Another Update, Complete with a Translation by Mom

Hi everybody!  Fiona here.  I just wanted to give you an update on my sister, the Hippobottomus.  On Thursday Mom took Abby down to Salt Lake to see some special vet (Dr. Liz here, it was an oncologist) and after a day of tests, a shaved belly, a bunch of needle pokes and pictures of her insides, the verdict came back: she doesn't have any odd lumps or growths in her chest or belly, which is very good.   The results from the needle pokes (spleen and liver) will come back later this week, but due to some Score With a Funny Name (the Mitotic Index, which is a measure of the likelihood the tumor will return and/or metastasize; a good score is 5 or less, Abby's is 30 - but the scale goes to 100, so it could be worse), it sounds as though Abby will be given some medication at some point that will make her glow in the dark.  (Because of the chance of regrowth/metastasis, Abby will have a course of chemotherapy that should help retard the growth/spread of the cancer cells.  It is unlikely that Abby will glow in the dark.  Although if she does, you can be sure there will be pictures!)

Yeah, blah, blah, blah.  Mom has been reading all sorts of research articles (actually, I stopped, because I didn't like their survival outcome numbers), but I can assure you that neither Abby nor I have been reading any of these articles.  In fact, I even intercepted the memo that was supposed to tell Abby she was sick, and I ate it, so she doesn't know she's sick.  I'm not going to tell her, so do me a favor, and don't you tell her, either, please?

Next Saturday, Abby will go in and have her stitches removed, and we can get back to our regularly scheduled frisbee zoomies and bitey-face action.  In the meantime, we will continue to hang around the house and look pathetic - because frisbee zoomies and bitey-face isn't much fun without my sister.

Another week?!?
Another week?!?  *sigh*

I suppose I must just hang out in this sunbeam.
My sister is a sunbeam hog.

I shall stare off into space and look all dramatical.

Mom, I'm bored....

Just hanging out here....
So, one more week of snoozling and then we can get back to our usual excitement.  In the meantime....

Ho-hum.
I'll keep you posted.

*kissey face*

Hang in there Ab's. And if there is any glow in the dark effects think how much fun night Frisbee would be.

Fiona - you ATE the memo!?!? Way to GO!!! Honestly, you could be an honorary Sibe with that kind of behavior! Just outSTANDING! And there is no reason to tell Abby anything!
If she does glow in the dark, please post pix STAT!
On a serious note, we've been praying for her and will continue to do so!
Yours sincerely,
