A Week Without Frisbees *gasp*

Actually, we've managed to survive an entire week without frisbees.  One week down, one week to go. (And Abby's back is fine.)

During our frisbee deprivation, we have been amusing ourselves with a lot of bitey-face.

The Hippobottomus may weigh 15lbs more than me, but I've still got that psychological advantage!

Yes, Abby's back is fine.

Mom thinks this should be carved in stone and mounted as a gargoyle.  We have No Idea what she's talking about!
In other excitement, I got a new collar this week!  You might notice in some of the above bitey-face photos that Abby is grabbing my collar - which is fine, except that a few years of that takes its toll on my collar.  So Mom went to Fido's Fashion Collars and checked out their pre-made bargain bin and picked up a new look for me!

Yep, I'm looking good!
Abby's paw and crossed bones collar, BTW, is indestructible!

In addition to being denied our frisbee time, the weather this week has been spring-like (for a change), which means it's been cooler and rainy/snowy/windy.  So we have been humoring Mom with some of her indoor photographic endeavors.

A party store was having a sale on some stuff, and Mom thought it would be 'fun' to dress us up in various hats.  There are times when I wonder about Mom.  Hats?!? Really?!?  *ahem*  The things we do to keep Mom amused...

Yeah, I really wasn't thrilled about the sheriff look.
My dear sister, however, makes a terrifying pirate!

Arrr!  Give me yer liver treats or you'll walk the plank!
Me?  I'm just your typical very good-looking Pirate-a-doodle!

So where are the promised treats?!?
We also got in some squeaky ball time.

Is it me, or does Abby look particularly terrifying here?

Talk about capturing a specific point in time!

I have mastered the 'Baby Bird' technique!

Watch and learn, young Hippobottomus!

"Mine!"  "No!  Mine!"
And Mom spend some time playing around with her flashes indoors and out.

Of course, Abby had to be a hambone, as usual...

You don't need to read our name tags to know which of us is the good dog and which is the goofball!
And finally, Mom got a few 'natural light' photos of us...

So while we've been frisbee-less, we've had a busy week!

I can't even imagine what kind of wonderful and exotic treats you must have been bribed with to pose in those hats! You do realize that everyone can see them, right?

Ah well, don't worry... we've all been tempted by the promise of a tasty treat. But seriously, try to muster up some will power next time she brings out the hats. She needs to learn some boundaries.

Some of those bitey face photos scared me a little bit. Especially the two-headed doodle. Not something I'd care to meet in person.

We love the straw hat photo! Of course all the pics are excellent! We NEVER wear our collars when we are together playing cuz one time Stanley grabbed my collar and it got stuck behind his teeth and I was being choked so I was yanking and screaming and his teeth were being pulled so he was screaming like crazy. Dad tried to open the collar but the buckle was stuck in Stanley's teeth and he was going crazy. While all this was happening, the guy tuning mom's piano thought this was a mad house and we boys were being tortured and killed! So now, no collars for us when we play.

Murphy & Stanley

What a chock-full-of-news post!
First of all, I'm SO happy your back is ok. WHEW!
Your mom is getting SO GOOD with the camera! I love all the shots, especially the action ones. Your house is a lot like ours, I think - just a couple of Doodles instead of Sibes.
I love your outfits, especially the pirate garb. Did you know I lived with a pirate before coming to Ao4 HQs? I did. Captain Maverick. I was his first mate. He was a great pirate!
Your squeaky ball almost looks like a snowball. Wouldn't that be great? A squeaky snowball!
Cammie!
