All Kinds of Excitement

We have had an exciting 10 days or so!  First, spring in Utah is always entertaining.  One day it's warm and sunny and you are zooming around the yard, trying not to let your sister steal your tennis ball...

And your sister is being a goofball (and wondering when Mom is going to get around to cleaning up the yard from the winter)....

And then suddenly, it snows.

Daisy the Weather Dog could, indeed, verify that it started to snow on Saturday.
And snow it did! It snowed on and off Saturday, and then Saturday night we got a few inches of snow, and we had some great snow zoomies and snow bitey-face on Sunday!  (Don't ask me why, but I really like bitey-ing my sister in the snow, but am a tad more reluctant to bitey her in the grass.... Daisy, on the other hand, is perfectly happy to bitey me anywhere, any time!)

I've got to try to maintain the psychological advantage - because as my British friends would say, Daisy is cheeky!
I've got to show her my teeth, because she's always leading with her teeth!

Not only does she lead with her teeth, but she levitates!

At least I can still usually tackle her!

Daisy was either reporting the weather at this point, or she just likes wrestling from the ground....

Did I mention that I need to show off my teeth in an attempt to communicate with the youth of today?

I prefer to remain standing when defending myself from the wee beastie!

Another case of Daisy attacking from the ground!

Honestly, she's a little terrifying with those teeth of hers!

Which is why I have to levitate myself out of the way of those teeth from time to time!

Seriously. This kid seems to think that I am just a big furry chew toy...

Holy carp! Do you see those Jaws of Doom?!? Eeiieee!

Did I mention that she seems to levitate, too?!?

See the above comments about levitating...

And those teeth!
On the plus side, I ALWAYS win snow bitey-face. It might have something to do with the fact that Daisy likes to roll in the snow, but I always win!

And the end of the day, we ARE sisters, and once I've convinced the wee beast that I really am in charge, we're friends again!

Since it is Spring, by Monday, our snow was melting...

In the morning.

Mid-afternoon.

Do I even need to repeat my comments about those teeth?!? BTW, she still hasn't learned to catch the frisbee, just scare it with her teeth! Heehee!

And today, our snow was all gone and it was back to tennis balls.  Welcome to spring in Utah!

I LOVE tennis ball season!

Even when the wee beastie is thinking about snacking on my tail!

C'mon, Mom. Throw the ball before Crazy Cakes bites me!
Daisy is always trying to steal my tennis balls, so I have to look ferocious!
Daisy is still trying to learn how to catch tennis balls. Or fling herself in the air, or something. It's a little hard to tell what she's doing!

Um, I think you might have missed the ball there, Daisy!

Yeah, I'm not sure what's she's doing here. Showing off her ginormous feet, I think!

I guess that's one way to attempt to catch the ball... I guess...

She clearly thinks those big mitts of hers are good for something!
Oh, and one other piece of excitement.  Today was Mom's birthday, and while there was no trip to the Magic Cheeseburger Window, Mom and Dad went to a nice steak place for dinner for Mom's birthday, and Daisy and I were brought the leftovers! Which is totally how National Pet Day should be celebrated! (And Mom's birthday, too!)

Finally, for those of you who have your air conditioners on, I'll leave you with some cool thoughts!

Have a great week!

Will NO ONE Rid Me of this Meddlesome Beast?!?

*sigh*  It seems like I use that blog post title awfully frequently... But it is totally justified.  I mean, look at what this wee beastie does to me!

Just in case you missed it, here's a close-up...

That wee beastie has got a death grip on my tail.  My tail!!!

*sigh*

If anyone knows of any drunken knights, let me know. Heehee!  Just kidding! I just wanted Granny to know that I've been paying attention in history class!

Still. This beastie takes liberties.

I mean, is she even a puppy?!? I think she's a werewolf!

And she likes showing off her pearly whites...
Don't worry. I *try* to put her in her place every once in a while...

But it's not easy - she's always giving me some lip.
Honestly, the youth of today has no respect for their elders.

In between my sister biteying my tail and harassing me, Mom managed to get Daisy's 8 month photo. I will say that I look rather regal. Daisy, on the other hand, well, is just Daisy.

She's not getting much taller, but she's starting to fill out a bit, and weighs in at a whopping 49.5 lbs. (Don't worry - I still outweigh her, which is something!)

As you may have noticed from the photographs, we've had the usual spring weather - snow, rain, sun, and everything else through which the Post Office promises to deliver. Which means that Mom hasn't taken as many photos of us as usual.  But she has managed to get a few stunning photos of us.

This is one of Mom's favorite photos of me. I don't blame her. I look stunning - as usual!

And a few action photos, because we have been able to get in some zoomie time.

Have you notice that the wee Bandersnatch wants everything I have? Tennis balls, frisbees - everything!

We've also been getting a little bitey-face in when we get the chance (and when Daisy annoys me to the point that I have to put her in her place).

Have a great week!

PeeEss: Even though Daisy has a certificate from her Intermediate Puppy Class, Mom and Daisy have gone back to Beginning Puppy Class so Mom can work on her Bandersnatch handling skills!

Welcome to Mud Season!

It's Spring, so that means we are entering Mud Season (well, it has been really warm lately, so we are well into Mud Season).  Mud Season is actually not as much fun as it sounds, mostly because the remaining snow on the yard is all mushy and unpredictable, which makes snow zoomies less fun...

Halp! She's behind me and I keep sinking into the snow!

Did I mention that I keep sinking in to the snow?!?
Even the wee Bandersnatch isn't super excited about the mushy snow.  She goes into 'go slow mode' when going after frisbees...

I don't think the Bandersnatch really enjoys spring snow, either....
Our yard has been melting all week, and actually, finally, today, we had enough clear space to bitey each other again, but Mom didn't bring out the camera (something about it being 4:30pm and not having much light in the yard).   In the meantime, Mom thought she'd have some fun doing more 'black dog on black background' photos.  I like these photos because it means Mom takes Daisy upstairs to the studio and practice 'sit-stays' while I get to snooze on the couch!

Daisy does look very dramatical!

Daisy looks pretty nifty and I got to nap through the whole thing!

But on an unrelated note, for those of you who might be thinking that Daisy is getting be almost as big as me, here is a photo that CLEARLY shows that Daisy is still the Little Dog - and with luck, will remain that way!

Have a great week!

Nothing to see here - move along!

Nope, nothing to see here, move along, move along.

Okay, fine. Here's what really happened.  I was just strolling the yard, in search of early-season rabbits and lost mooses, when I noticed that Daisy had slipped and fallen in the snow. I just went over to check on her to make sure she was okay.  That was ALL that happened - I promise! I'm such a good sister!

*sigh* Okay, there might have been a wee bit more to the story than that.  But it wasn't my fault - the little devil-dog Bandersnatch came at me first!

I mean, am I just supposed to stand that while Miss Might Jaws of Doom launches herself at me teeth first?!?  I think not! I've got to show the wee beastie who's in charge!

So, it wasn't really my fault that Daisy tripped and ended up in the snow and I sort of stumbled on top of her...

Seriously. Do you see those teeth?!?  Yeah.

And on a final note, Mom finally gave up on getting a better 7 month photo of Daisy, so here's what we've got!  Mom's not super happy with it, but as you can see from my face, I wasn't super happy with the whole thing at the time, so there you have it!  (Don't worry, I forgive Mom - I just wasn't up for Yet More Photos With the Bandersnatch!)

Have a great week!
