As some of you may know, I had surgicals on Wednesday. I don't remember much, other than getting all sleepy and then waking up and being a little dizzy and ouchie and having a weird plastic thing on my head. Mom says I had surgicals on my bladder and a "vulvoplasty" - whatever that is; all I know is that is left me with a whole bunch of stitches on my "south end" (if you know what I mean). All this surgicals is supposed to stop the chronic urinary tract infections I've been having, so hopefully in two weeks I will be a brand-new me! In the meantime, I've been spending a lot of time looking at the inside of my eyelids. Like this:
 |
| Yes, I was just a wee bit loopy here. (Or possibly more than a wee bit....) |
And this...
 |
| I've got 87 more days of this? *sigh* |
Because Mom knew about these surgicals, she got some pre-4th of July photos of us....
 |
| Mom is never allowed to go to the store by herself ever again. Just saying... |
Anyhoo, other than that, my week has been deadly dull, interrupted by dollops of chunky peanut butter, ramming into walls (and Mom) with my cone, and going outside ostensibly so I can pee, but I see it as the perfect excuse to lick my stitches. Mom does not seem to be wildly enthusiastic about my licking endeavors. Oh well. That won't stop me from trying!
Abby, on the other hand has been having a seriously funballs time!
And before you ask if I'm jealous about Abby having fun without me, well, not really. I mean, I would much prefer to be out having funballs with Abby, but if the situation was reversed, and Abby was the one who had surgicals, I would hope that I wouldn't be expected to do nothing for two weeks while Abby healed. So while being on bed rest for two weeks is not my idea of a good time, I don't blame Abby for wanting to have fun, and I'm glad Mom is making sure Abby isn't going stir crazy with me. But lemme tell ya; if Abby has surgicals, I am SO having non-stop funballs times!
Abby has been getting in a lot of tennis ball and frisbee action (as usual).

| Gumby dog! |
Abby also had a doggie class with Jessi (the turkey hotdog lady) and walked around in the heat
 |
| She got to say hi to a doggie on a shaded porch! |
 |
| Our Granny has identified these flowers for us. (Not that we really need to know the name to appreciate them, but thanks for the info, Granny!) |
And on this great adventure, Abby apparently also went bobsledding. Who knew you could go bobsledding in July?
 |
| I think she's getting ready for the 2018 Olympics! |
 |
| Jessi has even volunteered to be her brake-woman! |
In addition to
all that funballs stuff, Mom took Abby to the pond today!
Actually, I'm not as swimming-crazy as Abby is - I much prefer to chase my tennis balls on ground rather than in water - so I'm not heartbroken about this. And Abby (and Mom) seemed to have a grand time. Apparently they were also checking out the pond before Abby's play date with Murphy and Stanley this next week, and have given it the OK.
It looks like Abby had a great time (and she's all tired, which is a good thing!)!

| The mythical Loch Ness Dorkadoodle! |
Anyhoo, I've got another 10 days of bed rest ahead of me, so I will be working the pathetic look (
not too hard to do with this stoopid cone on my head - Astro of the Jetsons could totally pull off the look, but I think he's the last do to be able to do so...).
And Abby will be having some grand adventures, so I'll be living vicariously through her. However, Mom says the site of my stitches is "looking better" so I'm on the mend, which is good, because as soon as the vet gives me the okay, I will chasing tennis balls like a crazy Doodle! And Mom is postponing my birthday celebration until I'm able to fully enjoy it!
Have a great week!
