August 11th, and it's time for 'In Motion'!
There are some doggies, *cough*Tank*cough* who have suggested that we seem to always be in motion, and sleep is not something we do much of. Tank would, in fact, be right. Well, we do sleep when Mom is at work, but that's only so we'll be ready to assault Mom as soon as she walks in the door!
So, yeah, I guess we do the 'in motion' thing fairly well...
Really, who can waste time sleeping where there are tennis balls to be caught?
And zoomies to be done...
And frisbees to chase...
And snow to bound through...
If we're not in motion, I think the world would stop spinning on its axis!
Heehee!

Dog Days of Summer #10 - Wet Fur
It's August 10th, and today's installment of the Dog Days of Summer is 'Wet Fur'.
As 'doodles, we actually have hair, rather than fur. No really. There are at least 36 different breeds (not including 'mutts' such as my sister and myself) who have hair rather than fur. Generally it means we don't shed (or not much), and instead require haircuts. But hair or fur, it gets wet.
Abby is all about wet hair...
Heehee! What's the point of the interwebs if you can't post humiliating pictures of your sister?
Here is Abby's preferred wet hair style...
In my humble opinion, when she gets soaking wet like that, her tail looks kinda wimpy. Which is why Mom keeps our tails long and floofy...
This is more my kind of wet hair...
It's really awesome when I go back inside and melt all over the floor, or the blankets on the bed... Mom LOVES it. She must. I mean, she keeps letting us frolic in the snow... Heehee!
Stay cool my friends!

Dog Days of Summer #9 - Outside
The theme for Day 9 of the Dog Days of Summer is Outside.
Heh. We are All-Season Doggies.
Summer? Yep, we've got that covered with Summer Funballs Frisbee Times.
Fall? Nothing better than Fall Walkies when the leaves are changing colors! Even if Mom is more interested in getting pictures of the trees than getting pictures of us.... *sheesh*
Winter? Heh. If you know ANYTHING about us, you know we ROCK winter! Even when winter carries on into June, as it sometimes does around here...
And spring? When it does come, we're ready to test out the grass and take in the warm weather.
Heehee!
We love being outside, no matter what the weather!

Dog Days of Summer #8 - With Friends
Day 8 of the Dog Days of Summer, and it's all about Friends!
We don't have a lot of doggie friends. Sure, we go to doggie classes all the time, and meet lots of new doggies, and we sometimes go to day care and see old friends and make new friends. But really, when it comes down to it, other than each other, our best friends are Mom and Dad. And really, how many kids can say that, huh?
So today, we celebrate Quality Time with Mom and Dad.
Dad is totally awesome because he's so versatile.
He can kick back....
He's into weight-lifting
And he'll share his chair with a smile...
And what to say about Mom? Well, she takes us to doggie classes, and she plays frisbee with us, and she does all sorts of 'Mom Stuff'. But she's usually the one doing the photo-documenting, so we don't have a lot of photos of us with Mom, even though we do lots of stuff with her. But here's one of my favorites, from a fall hike.
Yep, we've got some awesome friends to hang out with!

Dog Days of Summer #7 - Tongues
As an aside before we get started, aren't you SO impressed at how Mom is actually (almost) keeping up with this posting every day thing? We're totally impressed. Okay, so she might be cheating a bit by scheduling posts a few days at a time, but hey, it's better than not doing it at all. And good help is hard to find, so we won't fire her for cutting a few corners.
Anyhoo, Day 7 of the Dog Days of Summer is all about Tongues.
And we're ALL about the tongues!
Puppy tongues...
Playful tongues...
Hiking tongues...
Snowy tongues...
Treat-savoring tongues...
Goofy tongues...
Silly tongues....
And classic, timeless, joyful tongues...
Happy Tuesday-Tongue Day!

Playful tongues...

Chasing footballs is hot work!
Slurp, slurp, slurp!
Snowy tongues...
I wonder if my tongue will freeze to my nose...
Treat-savoring tongues...
That was yummy! Please, can I have some more?
Goofy tongues...
Yes, Abby is the Queen of the Goofy Tongues!
He stuck his tongue out at me first...
And classic, timeless, joyful tongues...
TaiChi was always ready to help empty a salad bowl - especially when it contained beef strips!
Happy Tuesday-Tongue Day!

Dog Days of Summer #6 - Treat Time!
It's day #6 of the Dog Days of Summer, and that means TREAT TIME!!!
We are BIG fans of treats. Bully sticks, sweet potato snacks, turkey hotdogs, marrow bones, dried lamb lung, Vienna sausage bits, string cheese, leftover steak tidbits, milk bones, cookies... Well, you get the idea. If it's edible, we're into it.
HOWEVER, as you know, we've been working very hard to train Mom how to dispense treats properly. We have spent countless hours working at this thankless task, and we will continue to work on it until Mom gets it right. So, our Treat Time post is going to focus on, erm, inspirational photos. We hope that Mom will study Jessi's award-winning technique pictured here, and that Mom will continue to practice her treat dispensing skills. We are certain that in time, Mom will get it. And in the meantime, we'll keep working with her. Because we're good like that!
I think Mom just needs to keep practicing.... So it's off to the kitchen to help Mom work on her technique! Heehee!

Dog Days of Summer #5 - In Water
Today's Dog Days of Summer post is 'In Water.'
Due to our weekends being filled with all sorts of other funballs activities (doggie classes, frisbee time, etc.) we have not been going on our walks to The Park With The Pond. However, Mom, who has a gajillion bytes of storage space has been able to dig into the archives and come up with some photos from when we did frequent The Park With The Pond.
Hmmm. That actually looks kinda fun. Maybe I should convince Mom to take us to the Park With The Pond today. She's muttering something about having to go buy a weed whacker instead. Apparently she's not thrilled that the weeds in our backyard have gone to seed, and whenever we do hillside zoomies we come back covered in burrs. I don't think the pond has burrs. Heehee!
Happy Dog Days of Summer to everyone!

Dog Days of Summer - FurDoo
Okay, August 4th in the Dog Days is Summer is 'FurDoo' day.
We're not exactly sure what 'FurDoo' is, but I think Norwood said these were open to interpretation. So we're going with photos where we are rocking stylish 'doos.
Heehee! Happy Dog Days of Summer!

Dog Days of Summer - We're Catching Up!
We're a little behind on the 'Dog Days of Summer' posts, and while I'm not 100% confident Mom will post every day, we still want to play along. Here's the schedule, and we're going to try to catch up!
August 1st, Best Smiles:
August 2nd, Sleeping.
Erm, this one is sort of tough, because as our buddy Tank pointed out, we pretty much don't ever sleep. (Well, we do sleep while Mom is at work, so we'll be all rested when Mom comes home - because when Mom comes home from a long day at work, she totally needs bouncy dogs in her face. Trust me. She loves it! I know she does!)
So we had to look in our archives for some sleeping photos... I finally found a photo of us both sleeping. It was the first day Abby came home - she was worn out from all the excitement, and I was worn out from the little ball of fluff that came home with us.
August 3rd, Favorite Toy.
Heh. This is a total no-brainer.
Really. This frisbee thing is The. Best. Toy. Ever.
Heehee.
I may have to crack the whip a bit to get Mom to actually help us post for the Dog Days of Summer, but were totally looking forward to this!

August 1st, Best Smiles:
I think Abby's smiling. Or she's crazed by the scent of dried lamb lung pieces. One of the two - it's hard to tell.
Me? I'm totally smiling!

Frisbee catch in the pike position. Degree of difficulty: 2.0; full points for catching the frisbee
